That's an excellent new feature! It'll be especially useful for those wanting to compete in the Challenges.

Also, it's nice to see an updated DB 8-)

Sounds like they've gotten to the bottom of the dreaded 'declining attribute bug". That's awesome news, becuase I put all my dynasties on hold until that's fixed.

Good work SI, keep em comin!

Cheers

Yes, for those of you who don't know or hadn't put it together yet, I'm on the external testers crew as are some other TBLers actually... but I just wanted to mention here in follow-up to what Shadd said, these guys really do kill themselves for this game and I have the utmost respect for them. A perfect example of this is that Riz posted to the testing thread at like 4:30am about having finally finished some tweaks and testing of the 2d that he'd been working on all day so he'd processed the next build for us to test out... and by "all day" I'm sure he meant coming quickly up on 24 hours. :nosleep:

It's not at all an exaggeration to say that on most days Graeme and Riz work on this game for at least 12 hours, their dedication to the project is amazing. You could hire 50 people to work on a game and they woudn't make as much progress and Graeme, Riz and EdL (who is only part time) do. It's awesome. =D>

This change list looks great. It looks like they're really cleaning up some of the issues people have been having with the game.

Any idea how this patch is going to affect our challenges?

Well, that's exactly the aim of a patch generally :D

And furthermore it's well known that SI guys do their best for their costumers, always hearing complaints and proposition, and then working hard on whats wrong and on what should be improved, tweaked, added, etc. With so much hard and good work, i really wonder if they have time enough to have a life out of EHM :D

Those guys are a perfect example of the words "determination" and "dedication"! =D>

I've started several new games all the way up till the point where you are actually playing and I've never gotten a pop up. And yes I am running the new patch, and it does say 3.0.3 in the top bar thing. :dunno:

well. here's what I did....

I opened up my C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\database folder and copied the contents of the default DB. Then I made a new folder inside ...\data\database called 'default', and copied all my default DB files in there. Then I created another folder inside ...\data\database called 'unfake' and copied all my unfake DB files in there.

When I start a new game, I get a pop up window asking me to select which of the two I want to use.

cheers.

Oh alright maybe it doesn't ask unless it recognizes more than 1 database.

Well I get a pop up, but I also get a "fatal" pop up that says "version 3.0.3 select_league_screen.cpp 85" and then my option is to press "ok" and the the whole game closes. It only does this when I choose the 'unfake' database.

Joe - try making a copy of the official database (i.e. the files in the database folder) and put them in a folder called something like "test" within the database folder. Then try starting a new game using the test database. If you don't get an error then the problem is the Unfake DB. If you do get an error then maybe it's the game.

It worked fine for me. I made a copy of the unfaking database, then downloaded the patch, then put the copy back into the database folder. If I start a new game, it gives me the choice.

So, I have the Unfaking Database installed, but when I now install the new patch, will it be overwritten with the new Database? Do I need to install the Unfaking Database again after that?

Yes. The patch will overwrite everything in the database folder, so you need to back-up your unfaking folder. Install the patch, then place the copy of the unfaking INSIDE the new database folder. When you start a new game, the option of which database will pop up.
