Samsonov-Yashin-Kovalev...The Russian Lazy Line?
I'm rally impressed by the high level of hypocrisy in the article... Owner, GM and HC all praise Yashin as if he was their god and the masterpiece of the team...if so, why buying him out?

And yes, DiPietro's contract may haunt them sooner or later, but at least DiPietro does the job night after night, which has never really been the case of Yashin...

Well...the contract length may be foolish... On the other side, keeping a goalie who does the job for a long period is maybe not such a bad idea afterall, considering the importance of the goalies in the game...
It's a strange contract, no doubt, but may become a good one on the long term...or a totally pathetic one!

Poor habs fans...Great move by Isles. Had to if they wanted any hope of resigning Ryan Smyth to his 20 year deal.
Anyway I can see why Habs fans would be concerned. Yashin would be a great fit, but first Gainey has to trade Koivu, Ryder and Higgins. He has to, so he can afford the 20 year, 50 million $ contract to give Yashin. Oh wait...sorry...wrong guy.

If their mouths say that and their actions say "We're paying you $17 million and change NOT to play with us", I'll listen to their actions.Shadd666 wrote: I'm rally impressed by the high level of hypocrisy in the article... Sundin re-signed with the Leafs for less money than last season.

Funny you mention Yashin. We had joked about him signing with the Habs. I came across an article saying he wants to play for them!

Yeah, I saw news of that Alberts deal last night (I think it was last night, maybe it was this morning). It's a good signing. He's only 25 years old and he plays physical. He just needs to play a little smarter. I think Chia signed him for a good price though. Not too much, not too little. It's a good deal.

Oh no!
I thought it was supposed to be only a joke when we talked about a Samsonov-Yahsin-Kovalev line!
At least, they would be good players to practice with for frenchy goalie Cristobal Huet
If it makes him improve enough to bring back team France in the World Championships A Group, i'm for it!
Thought: Koivu would be a big threat if he goes down on the second line...Nah!...joking

You know why Florida dumped him right?
Cause the morons did this:
Florida signs Bryan Allen to horrendous deal, apparently with a NO TRADE CLAUSE to boot
Editorial in the title is mine, not NHLdotcom's
The no trade clause has been discussed on Sports Radio in Vancouver all day. What the hell is Martin thinking? Was he out drinking with Keenan and did they kiss and make up? This is nutso. Over 3 mil per year? AND a no trade clause? For Bryan slowpoke Allen? Trade him to the Hawks for Cullimore. They are the same player. Jesus
Bieksa: Between this and the silly Markov deal...You will get real rich after next year. There goes the cap room when Nazzy is done after next season.

Keenan to Calgary?
If this happens, the Northwest gets a whole lot easier next season.
Memo to Calgary fans from seven other NHL teams: This guy is poison.
