Editing team colours & New team colors discussion
Watching the draft last night I saw some teams have come up with new logos (most notably Washington & Boston) - any chance of somebody making these up for EHM?

Boston has a new shoulder patch...it is kind of cool and retro,...the B is still the B
Washington has changed their uniform/logo completely. And I love it
Next season, there are no alternate jerseys. Just home (dark) and road (white). There was some discussion at the league level of changing back to road darks, but Bob Mackenzie said yesterday that the league has decided to leave it the way it is for now.
As for the new logos in the game of EHM...preach patience. People are working on alot of projects right now, that will make this game incredibly exciting and new. TBL database, new skins or logopacks, cardpacks, team guides...all kinds of things. THese small logo changes will eventually get done when people have some time.
So to answer the question in this thread--Yes, someone will add the new Boston/Washington and other new logos in in the future, but maybe not right this minute.

New NHL Team Colors
Hi all. This is my first post here at TBL. Long time reader though. I've lurked around these forums for a while.
I saw the new Washington Capitals jerseys at the draft. Very nice.
Can anyone tell me, based on the EHM 2007 color palette, what the new Capitals color scheme would be? I'm starting a new game and would love to have their updated uniforms in it.

Well firstly, i LOVE the new shirts, they look awesome, but i can't put my finger on why i think (with most others) that they are so nice,
Regarding your question, i believe the colour scheme of the teams at the moment is based on there home shirt design, so i guess the main colour would be red, followed by white as the secondary colour and blue for the final colour. But then again the shorts are blue, so that might be the secondary colour, im sure someone else will tell us.
Hope that helps, and hope im not wrong
Thanks and Welcome

I've renamed this thread so that it covers the topic of new NHL team colours in general. I'll leave this thread open despite there being a thread on the new NHL team logos as I guess there is a fine difference between updating the NHL logos and updating the team colours.
The best way to update the team colours would be to use the commands in the extra_config.cfg file located in the 'database' folder in EHM.

I've already edited an extra_config file to make the changes(but it doesn't work)... and the way I have it setup is based on the jersey/numbering relationship. So for Washington, I have the home scheme as: red with white lettering, outlined by navy blue. The away scheme is white with red lettering, outlined by navy blue. They match perfectly with the back of the jerseys. Now I just need to get the config file working.

I wish we knew. Originially, the new sweaters were supposed to be unveiled during the allstar break. Then, they told us on draft day. Now? Who knows. We probably won't know for sure until the preseason, or opening night.Iceman90 wrote:Team colors can be edited in the pre-game editor. That is what I would use.
Do we know if Washington is the only team to change their color scheme for next year?
I've seen the new jerseys for Columbus, Boston, Washington, and...one other team, I think.
Washington so far is the only one to change the colours.

Did you start a new game having made the changes to the extra_config file? Also, if you're using a custom database located in a subfolder of the 'database' folder, make sure you edit that database's extra_config file rather than the file located in the default 'database' folder. I'll test your code later today...B. Stinson wrote:Now I just need to get the config file working.
Iceman90 - sure, the colours can be changed in the DB too but using the extra_config file means that you can make the changes with any DB (e.g. the default rosters, TBL-DB, Unfake, etc) rather than having to edit every DB file.

Actually the spoked B logo is a bit different from the old one. It's really just minor line work. They had an article in the newspaper last week describing the differences. The shoulder patch logo is a modernized version of the Bruins main logo from the 20's. You're right, it's VERY cool and retro. Actually, I love the new Bruins jersey. I was a bit worried about how these new jerseys would look (the slimmer fit and all) but the Bruins did a great job of theirs. They included various bits from their history. They've got stripes on the arms from the Neely days. They've got the shoulder patch I already mentioned. I think the revamped spoked B is similar to an older one they used at one time. They've also added the ties at the neck (like the Rangers have) which is from the Orr and Espo days. The home black jersey looks much better than the away white. I think they needed to invert the coloring on the sleeve stripes.batdad wrote:Boston has a new shoulder patch...it is kind of cool and retro,...the B is still the B
I'm not asking anyone to run out and make them now but maybe once all the teams unveil their new jersey designs we can get another jersey pack for news items (or wherever they were used before)?

I've done all of that so-far... which is why I'm so baffled. All I can guess now is that there's a glaring mistake in my code, or SI made a mistake and the game doesn't know what the code is for.Did you start a new game having made the changes to the extra_config file? It didn't when I tried.Iceman90 wrote:Will it also apply the changes to saved games?archibalduk wrote:Iceman90 - sure, the colours can be changed in the DB too but using the extra_config file means that you can make the changes with any DB (e.g. the default rosters, TBL-DB, Unfake, etc) rather than having to edit every DB file.
