Fortunately, there is NO tactic than wins everytime with every team. Else, the game would have zero interest. So it's up to you to try things, find things that work, change things that doesn't work, experiment different lineups, make little tactical adjustments, change the personnal tactics setup of some players, and the tons of other things you can do just in the tactic screen! (then we could also discuss about the staff, the trades, the draft, etc, but i think you get the point
)
Sounds difficult? The Tactics Guide linked by Archi is here to help you
Then if you still have difficulties, search in the forums if you can find the answers you're looking for, or start a new thread if you don't find, and we'll be more than happy to help you
Hope it helps

That's what annouced... Doesn't prove anything
Anyhow, what's the interest of having such a tactic from someone else?
The enjoyment of a game (not only EHM) is made on playing, loosing, learning, improving, winning, testing new things, etc... So there's no use to search a way to easily win all the time, without even understanding why you win, and then easily get bored of a game you hadn't take time to explore
That's not playing, that's just pleasing the ego

Yeah I tried one of those tactics, not for EHM but FM admittedly, it was supposed to guarantee winning 90% of the games and score 150 goals per season (that's a lot in European football). Outcome: I finished 6th out of 20 with Liverpool, a top 3 team, which I won the league with just one year before with my own tactics...Sucker Punch wrote:Lies! Check the sigames forum. There are at least a dozen cleverly named tactics that will allow you to break scoring records and win 80 games per year with any team.Shadd666 wrote:Fortunately, there is NO tactic than wins everytime with every team.
*rolls eyes*
So, unless you can prove that those tactics work with every team in every league, and you won't be able to prove that, Shadd is right.

The only effective tactics I've seen was the Sonic tactics for NHL:EHM 2005.Shadd666 wrote:That's what annouced... Doesn't prove anything

This doesn't mean to win everything, but this tactics offered a big contribution to the success of your team. I've won memorial cup 2 years in a row (and being in the final the first year) with those...

I've never achieved so good results until my Dallas Stars games in EHM:2007 with my own set of tactics, but I've never won the cup, just being a western powerhouse for 5-6 years in a row...

I've found it best to just take bits and pieces of the various "can't lose" tactics out there and make your own Frankenstein tactic. The most important thing to keep in mind is not to try to have you team play a style that they're not capable of. If you've got a slow team, don't have them play a high tempo, tight gap game. If you've got a bunch of finesse guys with low strength and hitting, don't have them play a physical game. Also remember to set personal orders. I've found that these have been a big part of my success.

I find that most people find their own way when it comes to tactics. I for one was not that much into them and I would always struggle year after year to make the playoffs. I also had a hard time with signing players who were suppose to show big for me, but didn't and that all became part of the tactic thinking that I got myself onto.
I for one will sit here and tell you that after I started to play around more and more with tactics, but also coach the games as well. My winning percentage was always above .700 for the year, hit the playoffs everytime, usually ended up in the final or the conference final.
All in all, you just have to find the right plan for you and your team. I have also noticed that doing personal tactics for your players will help you as well. Not everyone is born to shoot and not all are born to pass either. That is why you find their greatness and use it to your ability.
Good luck and I hope you win plenty of games with whatever set you go with, but like I said, I suggest you just experiment and come up with your own.
