Those new slim-fit jerseys are awful. The Predators look like they're wearing NBA warm-up jackets. What's next for Bettman, changing hockey pants to tear-away?

You can't blame the Predators bad look on the new slim-fit jerseys. It's what they did with them that made them look bad. Other teams have done quite well with the new style of jersey.

I was reading the Bruins' forum at HFboards and came across a link to a blog that talks about NHL logos and jerseys. There's a lot of art for "concepts" here and some possible early pics of new jerseys. It's worth taking a look!

http://nhllogos.blogspot.com/

BTW, there is a VERY interesting Canucks logo and jersey concept towards the very bottom. I like it. I'm thinking it would probably be the best they've ever had. Of course, we'd never see something like this produced.

Yeah that Canuck one has been around for awhile. It won't happen. They are not changing the logo...they have said it 1000 times if they have said it once. Still gonna be the Orca, just maybe different color.

And how in God's name does NJ defeat Montreal in a logo contest? That they seem to have on the site. That is dumb.

Plus the "h" is not for "les habitants" I believe it is for "Club de Hockey Canadien"

Idjits. I am right. I knew I was. I always am. Here is the Wiki quote:
The next year, the Canadiens changed their corporate name to the present "Club de Hockey Canadien", and adopted the first version of their current logo (which stands for "Club de Hockey").
This quote is found on this page:just above the 1917-1932 Era stuff

[/batdad old man rant.] First one in awhile.

Don't get me wrong. Devils logo is cool, but ummm.....The Habs, no matter how much I hate to say it ...have a classic logo.

Others that should never be altered or fought with

1. Chicago
2. Boston (subtle changes okay)
3. Philly
4. Detroit
5. Old Maple leafs---should never have changed it to the one they use now.
6. Rangers
7. Oilers--too much tradition with the Cup
8. Islanders--same thing as Oilers
9. What the capitals have now. It is too cool.
10. St. Louis
11. okay that' s enough or you guys will realize I am a grumpy old man who hates change. :-D

You guys are right about that guy's opinions on things. I didn't bother reading through most of it because they were opinions. You know what they say about opinions, right? :-D

I did find some of the pictures on the site interesting though.

Rangers new ones?

Not much change that I can see. Looks classically NYR. Good.

As a die-hard Rangers fan, It's hard not to state the Shield as the greatest logo in the history of sports :-p

But really...

The logos that never should be changed are of course all of the original six team's! That's a given...

However, someone, sometime must do something about the Sharks, the Lightning, the Predators, and the Thrashers logo's...

and if the Canucks do what they are "rumored" to be doing...The stupid whale, in blue/green colors (vintage) with the word "VANCOUVER" on top of the stupid whale...well...back to the drawing board for the millionth time for them.

Can the Nucks just get it right and then leave it? Sheesh...

Why can't the Canucks just stay with their awesome "stick" jerseys and leave it at that?

Because if they stuck to the same Jersey every year the fans wouldn't have to buy the "new designs" ](*,)

I really dont like that whale though, I used to like the old 'planet' logo or whatever it was supposed to be.

The stupid downhill skate is what you are thinking of. Yeah a skate going downhill...like the team was. Ick.

The Flying V was cool though. Love to see that in the blue and green! Hah...kidding. All Canucks logos in the NHL have their issues. Canuck is such a vague name...what can you use to make a picture of a Canuck...

Please do not reply with the standard Beach ball-Cloutier thing, or the Lindgren into his own net, or the Berbonehead incident, or Kevin Weekes showing up late for a game, because apparently he was mugged, by an old bum. Serious replies only.

Oh and don't go off topic about the pathetic Canuck history either. Noone is supposed to do that. :-D

Have nto done much. Resigned Bieksa, bought out Marc Chouinard. Pretty much it in terms of the big names. No Bulis yet..reupped Pyatt. Picked a couple guys to fill out bottom roles on the team and help out PK etc. Nothing exciting though.

Who cares..this team goes as Roberto goes. And the blueline Ohlund, Bieksa, Salo, Mitchell, Krajicek, Aaron Miller (our big UFA signing) is awesome.

Sedin-Sedin-Pyatt
Naslund-Mo-??? (Cowan maybe)
Cooke-Kesler-Linden (when he resigns)
Shannon-Burrows-Ritchie (the midget Ahole line)

These forwards seem to be what the team wants to have on the squad. They are the ones listed on their site. However, me thinks there is more to be done in terms of a deal yet for a forward. We have a few good prospects (Bourdon, Schneider in particular) that may be moved to get someone better to play with Nazzy...but who knows? Luongo rules, and Sanford will play oh 5 games in net.

It seems like the Senators have made a bit of a makeover on their logos too, atleast according to this site:

http://jeremymilks.blogspot.com/2007/08 ... -this.html

I guess they aren't that bad...Hard to say, 'cause they're black and white and all, but still. They could easily have messed up much worse. :-D

The colored one is real, the top one I'm pretty sure was trademarked incase they decided to change their main logo. As there are going to be no '3rd' Jerseys this year (according to reebok) I think its safe to assume that the new colorized logo is for marketing.

The Tampa Jersey looks good indeed but I still don't like that logo, a team logo doesn't need the city name on it.

YEah I Don't mind the Lightning at all. And Corinthian...if you think a city name looks bad..wait til you see Vancouver. Ugly maybe from what I have seen/heard in the rumour mill.
