Are there stats that never change?

Post by harmonica »

Do stats like Work Rate or Determination ever go up?

Or how about hidden stats like Fighting? I have always assumed it would go up with the more fighting a player has done, but I have never actually kept track of it.

What about Influence, does it improve if you give somebody assistant captain?

I have never played long careers and was wondering if anyone knows these answers. The reason being is that many of the quality players in the first three drafts (until regens start coming in) have pretty bad mental stats.

I did a search for a thread I saw the other day that explains what each stat does, but couldn't find it. However, that post never covered this specific question.

I believe the official word from a while ago is that the mental attributes do change, but at a very slow rate. Though, based on my experience with all versions of EHM, I'm of the belief that only teamwork actually changes... because, of all the games I've played through, none have seen any mental attributes progress or regress.

As for the hidden attributes, I would imagine they change too. Though, I've never even looked at them let alone tracked them, so I could be wrong.

I know Flair goes up over time, yet in the practice screen we don't see it in green. But not sure about the others, I am guessing they would, but I would love to see them in GREEN!

I'd suggest you download my player attribute tracking spreadsheet. You can log the players' attributes at 5 different intervals and see the progression on another sheet. If you're looking to track something like mental attributes that might progress very slowly, you could log these attributes once per year and then look at what they've done of the 5 years.

Determation and influence does increase over time for sure, but never noticed work rate improving on any player hmm.
I generelly avoid any player with less then 10 in determation, work rate and team work since it would take years for even a slight improvement and you really dont want no heart Yashin like players on our team come playoff.

I believe that every stat can change in the game on a team or even a player. Just depends on what kind of coaching you have on your team, how you run your practice, and everything else thrown into it as well.

If you put a player with a low work rate/determination on a line with two others with high work rate/determination and influence, then the player with the low attributes will go up. I don't have any screen shots but I know this is true.
