I've had Ovechkin go for 95+ goals for three straight seasons now. He's had Chris Clark on the RW for all three. Zubrus was his center for the first two and Backstrom for the last one (in which he passed the 100 gaol mark). Basically, I just have Ovechkin shoot A LOT, his center favor passing, and Clark favoring shooting. I'll put up a screenie later (at work now), but yeah, Ovechkin is unbelievable in my game.

So I was slightly off, Ovechkin didn't get to 95 the 2nd year, he leveled off at 90. Here's the screenie, as promised:

Am I the only one who thinks Chris Clark is a third liner at best, actually just a fringe player in my game, everyone else seem to use him as Ovechkin's linemate...

I have aquired Jason Allison and Peter Bondra as Ovechkin's linemates, and they're all making good points!

(Ovechkin: 32 GP, 30+25 = 55 PTS, Allison: 32 GP, 12+25 = 37 PTS, Bondra: 19 GP, 11+19 = 30 PTS - he had an injury early in the season)

True, true... but more is always more, better is better. ;)

I wonder, if I had a line with Ovechkin - Ovechkin - Ovechkin, would they score so many points, the game would loop out of this universe and somehow create a black hole, which in the end would collapse the space and time continuououm... :-k

... just a thought...

To revive the old debate...that line of yours would score nowhere near as many points as:

Crosby-Crosby-Crosby. :-p

(And no I am not serious...who knows?)

Heck, Im the biggest Caps fan/Pens Hater I know and even I'll admit Crosby would score more, Its a lot easier for a center to play a wing position than it is for a winger to play Center.

I've always used Clark as a 3rd line guy, sometimes plugging him into the 2nd in a pinch. I could see Clark maybe working with Ovechkin though. He could be used for a physical presence to maybe clear some space.

I prefer Ovechkin over Crosby, because I've never seen Crosby play, but I've seen Ovechkin.

Only on telly in the World Championships, but I liked what I was seeing nevertheless.

BTW, OvechKing has more than decent defensive attributes for the 1st liner, so why pair him with a def. forward? I use a center that favors passing (J.Carter) and a sniper (A.Kopitar) on the RW. I think it takes the scoring load off him and good for his durability(ATOI = 19:33). Alex has 2 scoring titles in three years and no injuries so far:-D

Clark has actually excelled playing w/ Ovechkin. The chemistry between the two, plus Clark's defensive awareness and affordability make him a great guy to pair with Ovechkin. Also, paying 2 million a year to a first line forward that pots me 40 gaols and 100 points allows me to invest more in the blueline, where the Caps really need help.
