Mugshot Facepacks

Post by thecoolstuff »

Hi, this is kind of a request.

I really like the old style of just seeing the big face of the players when looking at their profile. I've already downloaded all the available face packs that are in the Mugshot format. I hope someone can make a mugshot pack for the remaining NHL teams that dont have a mugshot pack already. I would love to do it myself but I dont know where to find them Mugshots... :dunno:

I hope this is not too difficult of a task to ask for. Thanks in advance!

If you have downloaded all here from this site, you will have allmost all I have made I think - except the New York Islanders which I just released today.

You can download it here along with many other NHL teams :

http://www.sportsgamer.com/forums/downl ... =cat&id=22

You can get the Islanders one, and then ignore the rest of mine from that site as you should have them. Then also get all the ones TWolf has made - that should cover a lot of the NHL :)

Yes, but not with mugshots.

The entire NHL is covered with card-pictures - I think, but the same is not the case with mugshots :(

I would love to, but the problem is that I can't find any more teams pictures in good quality :(

But keep checking out the sportsgamer download page regularly, I think some of the others there have better sources than me :)

Have you also picked up TWolfs AHL pack? It covers allmost all of the AHL and therefore also alot of the players who get into the NHL.

The whole nhl with mugshots is covered in the ehm 2005 NHL Facepacks. (also the islanders, but for season 2005/2006).
We' ve decided for the Action/Face Style this time and i'm really happy with that decision although it's double work.i wanted to do some new style and the tbl template from minstrel was brilliant. but i also accept that people want to stay with Faces only, and i'm glad that other authors cover them though.
PS: You can use the faceshot from
NHLPA.com. You can't save them to the disc, but you can make a screenshot (ctrl+print) and copy them in the graphic program you're using.

Thanks for the suggestion Devils88.

The only problem is, that they are too small - so they will be very bad quality when upsized to 157x200 pixels. They fit better into the small headshot on the card pictures :)

Thanks D88 for the suggestion. But like ElQuapo said they are too small for the 157x200 format. I hope you dont mind me asking but is it possible that you make a mugshot pack for the other NHL teams? since you have sources. Thanks.

I don't want to speak out of turn here - but I'm guessing D88 has his hands full with whatever other project he's working on. Also, he did start a thread to be used as a wishlist for graphics projects. ;) I think that's a great idea, as he as can see what everyone is interested in and choose his next project based on popular opinion!

As I'm sure you know, making one of these graphics projects is no small undertaking - especially when it's for an entire league. There's the searching for appropriate images, piecing them together, re-sizing, player flags, text, naming conventions, saving them all, etc etc. Plus, they all have to look exactly the same (minus the player specific info of course) down to the pixel! 8-)

Now, I'm not saying someone won't step up and make a new pack of mugshots for all the NHL teams. Maybe it'll even be me. But I am saying, don't get your knickers in a twist because it might take some time for someone to get around to it. 8-)

Cheers mate.

Hi sorry, forgot to answer yesterday.

Just saw your download at the Sportsgamer forums, but for some reason it does not work for me so I can't get them :(

I don't understand exactly what you need help with? Do you need help making the .zip or .rar file, or do you need help uploading it to this site?

BTW, where did you get the Pittsburgh pictures? The preview looks great :)

Hey man, I'm really glad you like my work. This is actually my first published work and its good to hear positive comments! About the question I was asking I've solved it already. I played around with the winrar program and found how to compress files. :joy:

I found the Pittsburgh pictures on the Penguins official website. I just save them on my disk and crop them one by one. I've uploaded the file on TBL as well and now it's just waiting for Minty's approval.

Your file is available now. Sorry for the delay but I'm busy with shows etc on weekends and also I had to repack your set because you included a thumbs.db file. Next time make sure you take that out first, they serve no purpose other than to inflates the size of files (by 113k in this case).

Nice work.

You just have to look into each player's profile and click on the news articles about them and if you're lucky you will find some articles contain mugshots of players.

Thanks, cool, I never thought of that - have to check if the same is possible with other teams.

For those interested, I have started making more mugshot packs.

You can download them all here :
http://www.thebreakaway.net/forums/foru ... d0684&f=27

Eventually I will do the rest of the teams missing for the NHL, so together with Hukkanens packs allmost the entire NHL will be covered sometime - hopefully soon.
