Help with News Items (Jerseys's)

Hi. I have edited the DB to remove Nashville for a team in Dakota. That worked great but I cannot get the news item (Jersey) to show on the news screen.

Do I have to edit something else?

I take it you want the news jersey to appear for you new Dakota team? What's the full name for your new team?

I renamed the Nashville Predators. (Dakota Blizzard). The editor worked great.

I tried naming the jersey as Dakota and Nashville and the news item is blank. I would suspect the Ice rink i modified will also not work.

Can I get it to work or is the system looking for the Nashville Predators and its not there.

Heya reaganfan; welcome to TBL!

Jerseys/ices need to be named according to the team's 'long name'. That's the name that is displayed in the titlebar when you go to your team page. If you've renamed that so it displays as 'Dakota Blizzard' then the rink file should be 'Dakota Blizzard.png' likewise with the newsitem jersey (I think newsitems can be .jpgs but ices need to be .pngs).

The other problem could be where you have your file. Ices all go in the same folder no matter the league so they are easy, just put them in your 'data/pictures/images/rinks' folder. Jerseys/news item graphics for a team in the NHL would have to be at 'data/pictures/news/clubs/National Hockey League.

Let me know if one of those three (name, image format or file location) solves your problem.

I tried what you suggested. I renamed the Nashville Jersey as Nashville back. I created a Dakota jersey named Dakota Blizzard and it does not show up. There is no prob with the jersey as I also named it Los Angeles Kings and the jersey did show up. What am i missing?

Are you saving the images as PNG files?

I remember having compatability problems with EHM 2004 when saving PNG files from Paint Shop Pro.

If you renamed it and it showed up for a LA news item it might be a bug of sorts that is keeping it from displaying.

If your team is 'Dakota Blizzard' it should be 'Dakota Blizzard.png' at the same location as the previous Nashville jersey. If that isn't pulling it up and it also doesn't pull up if you rename your Dakota jersey back to 'Nashville Predators.png' it may be some issue of the game no longer recognizing either team due to the edited database...

Can you use the database entry number of the team instead of the team name?
