Trial version: where's the countdown?

Post by Francois Tremblay »

I am playing on the trial version of 2007. Before I installed the latest update, I could see the countdown of my days remaining on the intro screen. But now it's gone. Is there a way to find it?

If I remember correctly you have demo pretty much indefently...it's just that you only go about 6 months into the game, game time wise.

That's correct, Loosie.

Like Shadd said though... you should just buy it. The game is sooooo worth it. There are few purchases (not just including games) where I so strongly felt that I got my money's worth.

Oh exactly...I loved the game so much when I tried 2005...I couldn't quite afford it at that point, so I kept trying the trial with different teams.

But when 2007 came I bought and have loved it ever since.

OH NOES! Only six months? But... that means I won't see my players grow and become the stars they are destined to be. What a sad fate.

Just kidding. I'll buy the darn thing. I haven't bought a game for a very long time, so why not.

Take a look on the web for the CD version of this game. It will save you a little money and time in the long run.

I got my CD version off of eBay last year. Good profit and buy if I don't say so myself.

Costed me a little over $20 and it's cheaper then buying the license off the internet and I can put it on more than 2 or 3 computers. Which is how many licenses you have when you buy it off the internet.

Anyway, all in all, buy the game anyway. It's well worth the money spent.

if I buy the CD version, I can just install it over my current installation, and then copy my custom files and saves back?

All you would need to do is just save your settings and games to another place, because the game will get rid of the game folder when you uninstall the game.

Once you do that, just install the CD version. Update it with the latest patch and if you are using a database, make sure that you download that and add it into the directory.

Then just put your settings and games back in the SI folder. Then also make sure that the game settings are the same. Such as when you save each month, the amount of the database you use, and so on.

If those things are different, it will tell you that you can't start your game because it can't read the file. Kind of dumb, but you have to do that in order to make it start.

Everything must be the same as before.

The version of the game, the settings, the database, and like I said, just about everything.

You know how before you start the game you can go to preferences and choose certain things.

If you make your game saves with the database being full or whatever setting on that for yourself. You have to make sure that when you start the game up again, you have to have them all setup again to the exact sameway.

Plus, make sure that you update the game with the patch. You also have to make sure that is perfect.
