Draft Advice

Post by Systemfel »

I wasn't sure whether I should post this in the Caps Discussion Thread or start a new thread about it. I obviously chose the latter. :)

Simlpy need some draft advice. I obtained the 3rd overall pick from the Jackets, but I don't know if I should pick college star Kyle Parrish (Phil Kessel's fake ID) or Czech winger Michael Frolik.

Input, please?

Peter Mueller, who was ranked as number 2, went 1st overall and then the Ducks drafted 5th ranked Jordan Staal, so now I'm choosing from Brian Little, Kyle Parrish and Michael Frolik.

C'mon, people! :)

Get Frolik, not Staal.

Woohoo! I went after Frolik and succeeded to aquire his rights! :joy:

Should I sign the guy rightaway or what? I got a big hole on the right wing because I gave up Dainius Zubrus in the trade. :-?

I'm not sure how well he will handle the pressure if you play him on your top line. If you play him on the 2nd line and give him some PP time, he might be ok. If you do sign him right away, don't play him when he is tired because that will hurt his development.

I drafted him too and I had so many great young forwards playing for my farm team that when the New Jersey Devils offered 3 1st round picks for him I traded him!

Good Luck! ;)

I hate having players in college :-x If you aren't going to play them at the NHL level they're stuck there for years and usually don't have the stats... I hate waiting.

I just picked up Kessel as well. He's playing second line RW and half way through the second season he's about the only Hawk I'm pleased with.

Phil Kessel's fake name in 2.1.2/2.1.3 is David Dwyer.

yep david dwyer, thats him.

draft him.....he is an absolute stud for me in 2012, playing first line RW. I've seen a few times that he slips to the 2nd or 3rd round of the draft too for some reason, so if you have a 2nd rd pick and see him sitting there nab him straight away. He's money.

The other guy to try and nab is chicago's RW's from the 2005 draft. Jack Skille has had the name of Ryan Atkinson and a bunch of others for me, but he was money. The other guy to look for is Mike Blunden. He was a throw in by them on a trade I made when I had an Avs game, and he turned into a 100 point guy playing as 2/3 line RW and 1st line Power play. I had him on the power play because of his deflections rating. He is absolute money, my PP was great this past season in my game (29%). I basically had Zidlicky as the QB, Semin firing them in from the point, Malkin down low creating and Mueller and Blunden on the wings tipping in deflection after deflection.

As for the 2006 draft, another guy that goes fairly late is Ryan Wilson. In my blackhawks game I grabbed him with the 36th pick, and he blossomed into a 75 pt D-man. Needs to be paired with a defensive-minded guy, but he is money. Never had to pay him more than 1 million as well
