Instigator Penalties

Post by WoodbineWolves »

Folks,

It seems that whenever there's a fight in one of my games, my guy always gets the instigator penalty. In the regular game, I hardly ever set fighting to "encouraged", but there's always several players 'allowed", so it's not like I'm looking to start fights.

Has anyone else seen this?

It could just be the player's aggression and the style of play you're using in the tactics. It could also be that your coaches don't have a high enough "discipline" rating to keep your players in check.

Well, there are definitely way too many instigator penalties in the game. There's nothing you can really do about it.

That and players getting kicked out of games for complaining. darn referees, why do they have to persecute us for our freedom of speech? Just because a player likes to scream four-letter words at them doesn't mean they have to kick him out.

In Home Exh Game in the middle of 2007 season I encouraged Dingman to fight Russians. After that game I was noticed that my player (Dingman) "has been suspended for one NHL game starting on January 25th 2007, after being rejected in the Panthers-Dynamo Moscow Exhibition game".
In additional, I'm not able to appeal that ridiculous suspension!!?
So why Mr. Bettman should worry about exhibition games with Europe teams? That game wasn't a regular game, so why my player was suspended? Has anyone else seen this?

CrockerNHL: yup. Game Misconduct leads to suspension in the regular season. I don't know if it's the same in reality, but i guess it is, since it's in the game.

Btw, those suspensions generally apply at the start of the regular season, so i don't understand how Dingo would have his suspension starting on January 25th... Maybe just a bug in the news item...

It was a 6-day hole in the schedule in January, so I tried to increase a playing time by inviting Dynamo to participate in Exh.game with me :-D

I admit being a perfectionist and the question whether it can be cured :)

To Crocker: Notice Steve Downie's suspension this season, it was in an exhibition game, yet it was carried over in the regular season. It doesn't happen often, though, that's why it seems so weird. I've had it happen before when playing in the british leagues (where multiple fighting ejections lead to suspensions).
