Expansion Draft

Post by JesseBoam »

I was searching through the internet, and I found a program for the 2005 version of this game, I think, and I was wondering if someone can tell me either if there is a file called config_team, or if someone has made a new version of this program for this years game. If someone could help me, that would be great.

Ok, so since on one replied, i am assuming that no one knows either about the program i am talking about, or you don't know anything about this subject. If anyone does find out anything about this, could they please let me know. If you need to see the first program, I could send it to you.

For one, the title is a bit misleading. I have no idea what to rename it so you might get someone who knows about it looking at this thread, because I have no idea what you're looking for.

:dunno:

It sounds to me like you're talking about the freeware EHM, and the 'Expansion Draft' file located here under "Utilities and Fixes".

As for information about it, I'm not sure.

Also, the teams config file should be somewhere in the game's main folder. I should know where, but I haven't played around with the freeware in so long. *EDIT: Again, this is the freeware EHM. None of the SI releases had any team config files, but the freeware did.

Ah okay. No wonder I had no idea. Never played the Freeware version.

if you're wondering about the freeware version of EHM... you may glance over at fhockey.com.... there might be someone there who knows.

Awesome, thanks for all the responses. I am sorry about the name, I couldn't think of a different title for this thread.

Oh, and just to confirm, nobody knows how to write a program to create an expansion draft?

League structures, even in the freeware, are hard-coded. So any modification of them(like allowing an expansion) would require modifying the game's code, which is prohibited.

I am not meaning to add a new team, i just wanted to take an already existing team, and do an expansion draft, and make it seem like it is an expansion team.

I guess in that case, something could probably be written like the free agent utility that would simulate the effects of an expansion draft... but that sounds pretty complicated(and not very fun, since it wouldn't be something we couldn't participate in, just a slight roster-scrambling utility). I'm not sure anyone would want to take a stab at that one, or are even capable of doing so. :-k

Best way is to do it in the Editor by taking Players NHL rights away with like say the Blues if that's the team your going to use and then move the Players you want on to your team.
Free-Agent Program makes evrybody a Free-Agent not one team.
