Your biggest rival?
The bloody Vancouver Canucks are driving me up a freaking wall. I don't know why, but they always have my number in this game. I'm playing as the Blues, going into the 10/11 season, and the Canucks have been a thorn in my side the whole time.
First of all, and most irritating, they always steal my free agents. At least 50% of all offers I make to free agents end up with them signing in Vancouver. Big name or roleplayer, whether I overpay for them or not, they always go to Vancouver. I've lost out on Heatley, Turco, Fisher (x2), Laperriere (x2), Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and Rafalski, among others I can't remember, because they signed with the Canucks for less money. The only name player I've managed to sign at all in this game is Chris Pronger (because he favours St. Louis), and the stupid Canucks made an offer for him too. They also took two of the coaches/scouts that I went after.
Not only that, I've never had a winning record against them in the regular season, and they've eliminated me from the playoffs for three years running.
Have you ever had a player or organization that just totally had your number at every turn?

My biggest rival is definitely Rögle BK.
My last two years in the Swedish Allsvenskan were by far my team's(Örebro HK) best two years. Both years we made the promotion playoffs, and both years our promotion hopes came down to one or two points from our very last playoff game. But, those silly billies at Rögle, both years, prevented us from getting those points. Two years in a row we deserved to make promotion, but they stole it from us.
So, even though I left Sweden after that second nixing, they're still my biggest rival right now.

In SM-liiga, with Espoo Blues, my rival is Tampereen Ilves. No matter how good of a winnigs streak I have going, or who I have playing, they always beat me, and quite often especially in the playoffs.
I wonder if it's just a coincidence of my tactic versus their tactic, or if the game takes into account the history between two teams and give an upper hand to those who're accustomed to winning?

No matter what team i choose, everytime i face the the Trashers they beat me up.
It's so frustrating to see them dominate my team that easily.
They usually send about 50 rocket like shots into my poor goalie and me i'm happy with 20 shots
somewhere in their defensive zone neighbourhood.
When simulating the game and looking at the boxscore i have seen the trashers-blue so often
that i can't stand this colour anymore.
In their prior games they can go like 0-3, 0-6, 0-4...... and then booom! 5-0 against my team.
Don't know if it fits here but there is one goalie who regularly sends me a clear message, namely Miikaa Kiprusoff.
No matter what team he is playing for i would never win.
In the current campaign i play the Sabres and in the first 5 seasons i went 3 times to the Finals
against Calgary. No way i even came close to win a series!
No matter what tactics, no matter what star players on my team, Kiprusoff has superb moral programmed.
Now in the 6th season Kiprusoff became free agent. And i was so glad - just wanted him to disappear.
Believe it or not, this fresh Fin signed a 3 year deal with the Trashers.

No matter who I am controlling, the Washington Capitals are always a pain in the rear. Either they win most of the games during the regular season, if they're not sweeping the series. With the exception of one Stanley Cup title while using Montreal, they always knock me out of the playoffs too!
I just finished through my first season as Toronto, barely surviving a terrible last month to sneak into the playoffs with the eighth and final seed. My first round opponents? Top ranked Washington Capitals! They swept the season series 4-0, and outscored me 16-3 including two shutouts.](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)
