I think you're right about that, but there's still a lot of season left, so here's hoping people will get interested again or will be able to spend some time with the game. And the standigs are pretty tight, so there's going to be some exciting times still ahead. At least now, since the Turkeys are back in the top-3, baby!

I don't really know who is hot or not - I just look for players with stats that I need. I tend to only watch the Bruins games so I don't really know the ins and outs of the other 29 teams.
this is my first fantasy hockey pool, i'm playing in and i'm very excited.
i really expected nothing but when i was in the top 10 at the beginning the ambition grows.
now after a long time spending on places 4-7 i finally arrived at the throne on December 18th.
just want to write this down cause tomorrow the old king is dead and long live the new king
and yes, it's a lot of thinking, but you can crack the top10 easily with a little ambition....
Yeah it's my 1st fantasy pool too. Only i'm 13th and can't seem to improve my position. Might just need to make a few more trades... Anyone interested in Boyes? He will rack up the points and PPG if anyone needs them?
Eriksson scored three goals last night, playing his last game in my lineup. Traded him out to get some points from defence and i was going way over on the maximum games for forwards, so i think we both got something out of this.
Hopefully the Smilodons will be getting some decent numbers from him too.
I'm 49 games over the max so i'll need to use my forwards with caution (last night i benched Kostitsyn ':thdn:' 1+1 2pim). anyway Eriksson will help but i need to replace 1 defenseman since Salo is out for a month if anyone has a D-man with at least 19 min per game and a decent +/- and want to make a trade for a forward you know what to do.
I'm going away for the holidays so I'm putting in a self-induced roster freeze up until the new year. During that time I (probably) won't be able to reply to any offers that I might get so don't bother giving me any.
Wow! Now I know why Getz kept trying to talk me down on our trade for Kipper. wanted more, give up less. Oh well...Calv you can have him. You gave up way to much IMHO. Getz must have worked you hard. You gave up more just in net than I would have. I refused to go any more than Budaj,Stastny, Ohlund for Kipper, Havlat, and one other (Forget who...but was not Boyes)
Calv must've really wanted Kipper, i was a little surprised to be honest to get an accepted deal there, i was expecting a negotiation. But we both get what we want. . He doesn't have a starting goalie amongst his ranks.
I want Boyes, Getz, but I can't work out a deal for him that'd work. You're welcome to have a go yourself.
Does anyone else thing PPG is a bit too similar to goals as a category? I wonder if hits or some other stat would be better as at least it means that defensive defenseman can have some fantasy value.
Nope. PPG is part of it for sure. Shorties might want to be in next time around. Look at my goals stat 13.5, but 19 in PPG...It is different.
Defensive stats that rae available in these fantasy leagues are hard to come by. Time on ice, plus minus are about it really. They don't have hits.
Plus even if they do...the hits stats out there are brutal. Extremely exaggerated in some arenas compared to others. There is no quality control on hits.
And Getz: My bargain was not too hard...just not non-sensical and killing the whole team I have.
Sorry but Stastny, Ohlund and Budaj or Smith for Kipper, Havlat and one of your useless twit d-men was a steal for you. In fact two of the three I was willing to give up are actually the only reason I am in the top 10...but yeah, no way I would have said no to the deal you were offered. That deal is just plain silly.
Sorry Calv...but you basically killed your chances in this pool with that trade...God to date Budaj is at least as good average and save percent wise as Kipper. And with Keenan, it ain't gonna get much better. Certainly not Pronger better.
I think that Hit's should be awarded points instead of PIM's. We shouldn't be allowed to reap the benefits of having a guy who is in the box all the time.
Mr McGoo, who are your untouchables and who are your willing to be included players? I have a couple of deals in mind.
Anyone not called Hossa, Kane, Savard, or Lundqvist is good to go. Rafalski would need a very good deal though. Also, I want to keep the same number of G,D,F.

Me too. When i dress a goalie, he plays bad, when i bench him, guess what... He still plays bad...
Anybody interested in Niedermayer/Pronger? I have them both but i dont really want 2 Ducks in my Defence. If someone wants them for another decent D-man, then feel free to make an offer.

I dont mind having 2 Ducks defenseman (plus Getzlaf), but if the Ducks have a bad night, so does my +/- as either Pronger or Nieds is more likely than not on the ice. I don't want to trade to them because there good, but just fancy a different option. The Ducks aint the hottest team either, i wouldnt mind a pair of Sharks, Wings or Bruins.
Not for a dman....gotta be a proper offer. Not interested in Boyes and a bag of pucks. Just trading issue for the same issue. Now...something that solves my issue areas, and helps you solve yours...another story. (BTW--Not really considering goal scoring an issue...yet).
