[Pre Game Editor][extra_config.cfg] Editing affiliations

Post by gamblor »

I am playing the Vancouver Giants in the WHL and I changed there affiliate from Ridge Meadows to Burnaby Express in the BCHL after setting this up and making a lot of moves I found out that I can't send any players to the farm because I realized the teams in the BCHL only allow 21 players on each roster but what surprises me is that the Chilliwack Bruins have there affiliates the Westside Warriors in the BCHL and then I noticed they can have more players on there farm team then I can so did I do something wrong when setting up my new affiliate team? Is there a way to change the roster restrictions in the minor leagues?

Not 100% sure, but... :

1/ i think roster restrictions are hardcoded and therefore you can't edit them
2/ did the Westside Warriors are affiliated only with the Chilliwack Bruins? Is it training camp there? Those might explain why there's temporary more than 21 players there... :dunno:

In the editor Affiliations-tab you have Max Goalies and Max Skaters values. Make sure they are at zero if you don't want to be restricted.

I see this in the editor and was wondering if it can lift the restrictions but it is already set to zero so if I add numders instead could that work? Guess I will test it out myself and see what happens.

Then again, Shadd may infact have a point there. It may be there's no affiliate restrictions, but rather a roster restriction in the league of your affiliate team, and that you can not change with the editor.

WHL affiliations

Post by Manimal »

As I am currently updating the WHL(soon finished) I have noticed that the teams have affiliations in the game but in real life don't seem to use them, instead loaning their players to different teams.
Should we keep the affiliations in future updates for playability's sake?
Any input from you western Canadians would be welcome (and from others, too)

No. THey don't have affiliations. Cause the kids are from everywhere and go back to their hometowns. Problem is, you have to "loan" them to their home team. I would leave the affiliations so you don't have to loan everyone out (I often do anyway)

I've been playing the Kamloops Blazers and I'd keep affiliates as it gives one a place to send players to and easily keep track of them. However I'd prefer the affiliates being in the BCHL as my Blazer affiliate is the Golden Rockets of the KIJHL which is a level lower than the BCHL and 2 levels down from the WHL. It's not a big issue though so don't lose any sleep over it :-D :)

No. Please do not affiliate WHL with BCHL teams. reason: BCHL is actually considered a basically on par league with WHL (although it isn't really) and some real good players will need to be created for it, and be interested in college. BCHL is college feeder, so please leave it as is with the Jr B teams.

In the game, there are three teams(CHI,KTN,PG) that are affiliated with Jr A clubs and one (PA)without affiliation. Should I give them all Jr. B affiliations?

WHich are the Jr A teams. PG with PG Spruce Kings? Who is Chilli with?

I would say remove the JR A AFfils, and put the teams with Jr B in their area that are available.
PG--Put them with Columbia Valley
Chilli-Abbotsford Pilots
Kootenay-Kimberly Dynamiters

Not sure who these teams are with in game.

The Kamloops Storm, Chase Chiefs or Sicamous Eagles would make more sense for Prince George as they are about half as far away. Chase probably won't work as they were not in the 07 game but the Storm or Eagles should work unless they are already affiliated.

I'm also considering what team to affiliate the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL with.
It would be kind of funny to choose the Buffalo Jr. Sabres

I'm leaving the QMJHL affiliations to Racicot

Affiliation Change

Post by ervinn »

I would like to point out the Calgary Flames affilitation change in the the 2007 season from Ak-Sar-Ben Knights to Quad City Flames and then in 2009 the affiliation change to Abbotsford. Will someone help me to set up the game to make these changes or show me an updated database that has these changes implemented?

Abbotsford will be in the Lidas update for next season. So will Texas Stars and Adirondack Phantoms.

This seems like a daunting task for a newbie: what changes would I need to make not only to the Extra Config File but in the database in order to start a game from 06/07 with the move from affiliation in Omaha, Nebraska to Moline, Illinois pending the start of the 07/08 season?

Although there is a command to change affiliations in the extra_config, I dont think it will be possible to actually do it. You can only change between two existing teams. If you want to make the change in extra_config, you will need to have both teams in the game. You cannot add/remove teams in extra_config, so If you would like to do it, you would need to have both teams in AHL (or whichever league you choose) for your entire game.

Thank you, Lidas. I thought that if the new team was in the database and not necessarily in the AHL this year that next year the new team would become active and the current team would not be in the AHL.

[Pre Game Editor] Editing affiliations

Post by rinkrat99 »

Hi all

I am running the latest DB files Libda 3.0 and am the Colorado Avalanche. My lower level affiliation are a ECHL Lowell Lock Ness Monsters and CHL team. How do I obtain an AHL affilition or how do I create one?

Thanks
