Hi all,

I'm current playing using Lidas rosters (with the Avalanche) and notice that I am able to assign player to 2 different ECHL teams: Lake Erie, and Johnstown. I thought that Lake Erie was an AHL team? I also can't seem to assign any players to Lake Erie as it says that there is no room on the roster.

Is there a fix for this? Sorry if this is a repeated topic.

No the number of teams in the leagues is fixed so they put Lake Erie in the ECHL. The reason you can't send more down is because the roster rules in the ECHL are much more strict about number of players.

Add a GM for Lake Erie, clear up space, send your players there and then remove that GM.

Sorry, I thought of something else. Will this hinder some of my prospects since they are playing at an ECHL level instead if an AHL level?

Don't know. Would be hard to know for sure, since every game is different. I doubt it, but not 100% sure on it.

I think it will on several levels. One is the level of competition. Two is the quality of coaches at the ECHL level. Three is the level of talent & experience of veteran players you will be able to attract at the ECHL level. All of these things are already known to have an impact on player development in game.

1. Competition level in ECHL is increased a bit by having a couple of teams down there from AHL...so not as much as you think, but maybe some for sure.

2. Coach quality--You are running your own team, and you can pick your coaches. you may have to hire younguns of ok or normal reputation, but you should still be able to get some good ones.

3. talent experience of vets--I dunno about that. My guys on my farm teams never have any vets on them, and they develop just fine. I would go back and show what I did with Brule in the original db when everyone else was saying he did not develop again if you wish. And there were no vets playing with him.

In fact, I seem to be able to get guys to develop pretty well without even changing coaching staffs. Jannik Hansen in my Nucks game right now..has 21-21-42 in 40 games in year two with Manitoba. His center is Alex Bolduc...his LW is Evgeny Gladsikh. He normally has a dpair of my 18 year old rookie I drafted and Ryan Ellis. Only veterans on the team are Manitoba signed guys...Mike KEane (and one other one--Mark Smith) but they never ever play.

Coaches on the team are the ones that they have at the start of the game in Manitoba.

I know they are an AHL team, but the guys seem to be doing quite well, without the veteran presence. WIthout the coaching structure, and without the coaches having changed from the db.

Yes this is Lidas db, but Hansen still ain't that good in it. SO possibly the competition variable but the other two...not so sure they actually do matter, even though stories from people (without proof) tend to say they do.

EDIT: This is not to say that there is ZERO effect. I think there may be a little, just not all that much. Watching the Avs prospects in my game who are playing in Lake Erie with CPU AI, and they seem to be developing just as normal (Grant, Cumiskey)

Is it possible to edit my team and place Lake Erie back in the AHL at the expense of another team?

Thanks.

Do I need to use the Saved Game Editor to do this? I'm not seeing a way to switch a league for a team in the editor?

Thanks again.

Do not know if save game will work for that. But if you do it with pregame..it will be ready for the next game you play.

I'm pretty certain you can't do it in the save game editor. The pre game is your best bet.
