It was so tempting, they were too good to go to another team.

Okay now that my temporary #1 goalie Danis is injured for 4 months, I am stuck with MacDonald - Mannino duo for 3 months...That's gonna be long 3 months :help: . At least the team is doing significantly better than in the first couple of matches.

Youch. Oh well, stuff happens Gibber. I will provide a hint. After each and every game check your players. Just click on them. I had Luongo play 77 games, and all 18 playoff games without getting hurt 2 years in a row. How?

1. he never got injured in games (dumb luck)
2. checked his page and it would say potential injury to whatever...every once in awhile. So I rested him from practice and he would be fine the next day.

I experimented with Edler...and did not rest him and the next day he was out for 3 weeks. So...practice injuries can be avoided if you are meticulous about checking on the guy.

Yup. I do the same thing as batdad. It works. I hardly ever get injuries worse than a week or so.

EDIT:

Oh yeah... so I started looking at deals. I went to the trade center and checked availability. A team had a guy available that I thought would be a good addition to my team. I build up the trade a little to get another guy I wanted. It's still a little lopsided. I make it so that my board is happy and their board is close. I figure they'll come back to me with a counter. So they reject it and now the player they wanted to unload is no longer up on the trade block. He went from 1 star to 4 stars. Ugggh! If only I had gone with the deal when my board wasn't too happy.

Danis was injured in game, unfortunately.

Okay, I am done for today. 25 games in. Pretty bad record, but team's has been putting up better and better performances recently. With few tactics and special teams tweaks, healthy team and a bit of luck this team could play .500 average stretch for the rest of the season, I will work on that tomorrow. Witt is healthy, but has not played yet as I quited the game right after I got news he's done with physical therapy. I also acquired skilled D man for cheap price. He's +4 in 4 games, and with such a losing team it's quite an achievement :joy:

I just got Witt back too. He's played 1 game and did pretty well. Gervais is sitting now.

I still haven't made any trades yet. I'm still mad over the missed opportunity on that other deal. I was going to make a deal for a couple guys that another team is trying to unload but no matter what I do (even a straight up one for one swap), it says that they've got roster issues. Still, I've got a couple irons in the fire.

Wait. 25 games and you're just getting Witt back? Are you counting preseason and regular season? I'm only 12 games into the regular season and I've had Witt back for a game. Why so long for you?

HAve you been using him at 90% B72? I ask because I am 4 games in and he is listed as out for 2 months still, but he is 90% condition.

You don't send them anywhere. You need to go back and re-read the rules. Check section 3 of the Challenge rules. It talks about stats recording. For your screenshots, you should just setup a photobucket account (or some other photo host) and upload them there and then post links to the screenshots.

Nope. He's 100%. He's always been set as the quickest to return for me. Martinek is only a couple weeks away from returning (probably just practice... but still). DiPietro still has 2 more months and Sillinger has 4 months. I wonder if it's to do with my trainers or what?

25 season games. That's when he became completly healthy, 100% condition. He has been attending some physical therapy and had 90% condition for a long time though.

Hmmm... I wonder if my trainers were able to get him back to 100% from 90% quicker or if I just got lucky?

Your Dipi is 2 months away from returning while mine' still 3, and I am deeper into the season. It might be something with the trainers because, although I have 3 signed trainers, only two are listed in my staff. But whenever I check that 3rd guy, it says he's contracted to Islanders as trainer. A bug or something?

That's really odd that only two trainers are listed but 3 are contracted. That doesn't sound right at all. Still, I'm guessing I've gotten lucky with the injury recoveries. I won't complain!

The 2 thing is just because the Isles staff list is too long for the page. I have the same issue. Boyer ain't listed but he is there.

Ah, okay, I've got the same thing. It drops off the third trainer even though you can scroll. Must because of all of the staff at the very top that you have no control over. :dunno:

Roster questions

Post by Peterman5000 »

So i can trade any roster players on NYI or Bridgeport, but cannot trade more than one draft pick or receive one.

I can also not trade any unsigned prospects

Just want to be clear so im not disqualified

Once you're in the allowed trade period you can trade any roster players on NYI or Bridgeport, except for the 3 young UFAs you were allowed to sign. No unsigned prospects are allowed to be traded. Only one draft pick can move, either traded out or brought in. That's for the whole season, not per transaction.

From Oct 15 you can start to make deals.

We like to try and have everyone play this game as realistically as possible. That means we frown upon deals like this:

Weight, Comrie, Guerin, Thompson, Colliton, 3rd round pick, 2nd round pick, Sim, Park, Jackman

for

Alfredsson, Heatley Volchenkov.

We want simple realistic deals. Like Bergenheim=Tkachuk.

That being said, as long as you keep your farm team properly stocked, don't trade unsigned guys, and don't trade more than 1 draft pick (that is not a first), and don't trade in periods you are not allowed to (ie draft day, and the summer after the draft)...you are within the rules.

Just be careful what you do. Many have messed up. Including those who make the rules.

And oh, BTW I am peeved. I was 3-2 or 4-2 *unsaved*, and playing Nashville. I am up 3-1 with 132 left in the first. Belak gets into a scrap with Sutton. Except they don't scrap, they just keep circling and circling. Nothing I did in the 1/2 hour I left the game fixed it. The game froze. So guess what....starting over from end of preseason. Ugh.

Ugggh! Let's just hope there's no corruption in that save. It would be a shame if you ran into problems with the save later on down the road.
