Unsigned prospects can be signed any time. But they must stay with your team for one full season after they have been signed.

In other words, no signing of a 3* prospect or 10 just so you can make that deal for Marleau work.

Pulling this from the other thread, accidentally put it there.

Just so you know salming.

was the second ones i refered to, the unsigned prospects that are 20+ and can play in AHL team or be used for trades later on. a few of the euros are decent but doesnt join until next summer as u said.
You're referring to unsigned prospects that you already own the rights to (drafted) though, right? I just want to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

Yup, you're okay to sign those guys. Just make sure you keep them on your team for a year. No signing players just to trade them now.

So I made another big deal. Traded away me leading goal scorer who is about 100 years old. He had not scored in 10 games, and was just annoying me anyway, as he does in real life.

Guerin is a Shark. In return for Guerin (an UFA), and the hapless Frans Nielsen I got a 4.33 mill contract for few years in Milan Michalek.

So my lineup still consists of players that were either Isles or I have never had.

Michalek-Weight(curr inj)-Hunter
Tambellini-Comrie-Stewart
Booth-Kozlov-Park
Fritz-Talbot-Colliton
Jackman

Sutton-Streit
J Schultz-Witt
Meyer(inj)-Cullimore
Hillen - Martinek(inj)

Dipietro
Danis

I likely have one more deal to make, and will involve a Left Side dman (Culli, Sutton or meyer will be on the way out, for a PK winger or C) Still need one more of those.

Oh and so y'all know..my man Stewart??

Had one less goal than Guerin when I dealt Guerin. Was 2nd on my team in goals at this time, and he has played 12 less games in my fishstick jersey. :-D

I am now almost done with season 2, I didn't meet the expectations, as I didn't make it to the playoffs, I am now sitting in 12/13th place, with around .500. I did some moves in offseason and early season, that included Martinek + Comrie for Weiss, a cheaper and better substitute for Comrie, and he's signed to few years, so that's a good thing too.

I also acquired D Gleason, I always liked this guy, he's cheap, and pretty good, and he certainly helped my defense to do some job in front. DiP was somehow underachieving all season long, and Budaj, my backup had better numbers O_O. I missed a touch of scoring in the season, Huselius is my only outstanding scorer, have to work on acquring goal-scoring RW, as Guerin is leaving my team for good after this season. Okposo had a good run as a homegrown, spending most of the time as 3rd line RW, and 2nd PP, he's developing into a good power forward. I also have to do something with the defense, Sutton's and Wallin's contract is ending, and not sure if I want to resign them.

BTW, this has been bothering me all season long - I didn't sign any Young UFA players because no one was willing to sign for league minimum 450.000$. Everyone asked 475k and I couldn't choose less. Is that common? :dunno:

I am kinda embarassed with my achievments so far, team has showed lights of improvement, but I expected a much better year.

Yeah, the league minimum goes up over time $475 would be the lowest they accept at the point you are at. You are fine when they won't go lower than 475 to sign at that amt.

I hosed my second season too, currently at the beginning of the third, doing better now. I am actually in games. but this is because I did a total blow up of the team in season one. now my young players are starting to show their stuff. It will be a fight to make it too the playoffs this season, but I also have 2-3 very good players coming up next season as well. The future looks very bright.

I used to get Milan Michalek for just about every team I played. Consider him the Patrick Marleau of wingers. He's that good. Anyhow, I stopped trading for him because he made things a little too easy.

So, I finally got some time to get on with the challenge and it's a whole lot of fun. I have just completed pre-season and the team is set. The young UFAs I signed are Martin Houle, Vince Rocco and Mark Fistric(Dallas released him). I sent Bailey to juniors and Okposo and Comeau to the AHL. Sillinger retired for me as well. I went two-and-five in the pre-season. My defense is not very good and the goalies are suspect. Hopefully my injured players will hurry back but they are 4 months away right now.
Positive surprises for me are Pöck (I always hated him on the Rangers) and McLean, who I didn't expect to make the team. Also prospect Kirill Petrov looked stunning during camp. He'll be coming over to America next season.

Trading for Curtis Joseph was the best move I've made so far. He's keeping me in games. 4+ GAA but almost .900 Save%.. That says something about my team..

Duncan Keith was a good pick up too, but I had to give up Okposo.. Honestly though, he wasn't looking too good in the AHL anyway.

Jason Blake was had for cheap, as was Sergei Fedorov :)

Bates Battaglia is turning out to be the perfect 3rd/4th liner.. I always use to trade him away when I played as the Leafs.

I'm running something like..

Keith - Streit
Meyers - Sutton
Davison - Gervais

Blake - Weight - Guerin
Tambellini - Comrie - Hunter
Battaglia - Fedorov - Bergenheim
Hollweg - Betts - Bradley

Joseph
Danis

Defense will be much better with Witt and Maritnek.

Really B72? I have never had him. Never seen him do all that well either. Hmm....We shall see how things go, and I may have to deal him away at the end of the year if he is too good.

Seriously. He's amazingly good. I don't know what his abilities are like in this DB but in the original DB, he was always awesome. The only reason I ever got rid of him was that after a while he just cost too much to re-sign. He was fast, could put up serious points, and was defensively responsible. He worked great in a LW Lock tactic.

He looks similar to my Anthony Stewart. Nothing except speed is green if I recall right. Don't have the game up right now.

Speed, stickhandling, and determination in my game. The thing is, most of his other attributes are in the 13-16 range. He's got a nice 14 in anticipation (an attribute that I think is huge in this game) and a 16 in creativity. He'll improve too. Trust me. The guy is awesome.

So my scouts have looked at Joshua Bailey. They just don't see much in him. He's tradeable because he is under contract to the Islanders and loaned back to his junior team. So I put out a few offers. I wanted a good third line center so that I could move Moore down to the 4th line, where he is better suited. By doing that, I can remove Thompson from my team. So I went looking for a center with decent physical abilities, pretty good passing and faceoffs, and solid positioning. The 3 centers I came up with were Ryan Kesler (Vancouver), Matthew Lombardi (Calgary), and Samuel Pahlsson (Ducks). All 3 offers were straight up, one for one, I give them Bailey and they give me their guy. Now I'm leaning away from Pahlsson because he's 30 years old and a UFA next season. He's got great defensive abilities but he's probably the least offensively gifted of the 3. Both Lombardi and Kesler are much better skaters than Pahlsson. Kesler is better defensively and has a better shot. Lombardi is a much better passer and has better stamina. He's also more creative and has better anticipation.

I think I'm going to go with Lombardi.

Right choice. Kes does not develop. Pahlsson does not play well.

I swear this is the most trading I've done in ages. I usually just stick with what I've got but there is so much that needs fixing here.

YEah I know. I keep thinking I should not be making any deals. I think I have one more and I am done.
