I think this database is better... but you need to register.

Just curious since I'm ready to start my career, why do you think this one is better? Does this version change any of the ratings and such? Or purely updates the names?

Thanks!

Very rough description:

- EHM The Blueline's unfakes, but keeps the original ratings.

- The Breakaway's unfakes and changes ratings.

- My database (LidasDB1.2) unfakes, changes ratings, and updates rosters.

Just pick the one you like the best :-D

That DB change ratings to be more accurate and realistic.. update names etc. There have been done so much that I cannot even remember.. I think that no one can't.

UUDB also has more leagues than TBLDB and many 16- years old players.
Edit: I forgot: UUDB has real team names, e.g. in TBLDB: Jokerit Helsinki, in UUDB: Helsingin Jokerit and there is many bigger mistakes: Lohjan Jää-Ankat and LoKV has been switched places, VaKi HT is Vantaa K, or something like that, Hockey Club Storm Vaasa is Sport Vaasa or something like that etc.

I started playing this game about 2 weeks ago so I don't much about the technical things... So this will be a stupid question. What is this faked database about? I started with the default roster, is it faked? There are quite a few strange things in it, ECHL defenders with 1st line skills, while Kunitz and Penner are useless but have high reputations so worth a lot as trade baits. Zetterberg has skills of about 13-14 as well. Why is that? Is it some kind of a bug?

The default database has fake names for youngsters out of legal reasons and the names are real in the unfaked databases. It has nothing to do with player's skill values or any other related info. You can look at other databases for better ratings on players, like for example the Lidas DB, if you like.

The only problem is that I cannot install patches for the trial version of the game... If the default roster is not bugged, then it's really outrageous... What the hell were they thinking when they added NHL-all star level player to Alaska from the ECHL??

Thanks for your help!

Edit: I tried it again and this time, the patch works... Great...

No, I think you actually can install patches on the trial version.

The ratings may be off in some cases for the simple fact that 1. the game was made in 2006, when many of the now star players were yet to be discovered 2. the skill attributes are in some cases somewhat random (meaning they change every new game you start) for players that were not properly researched due to lack of time or volunteer researchers.

It's not perfect, but it's the best and most indepth hockey sim out there. Take it or leave it. :dunno:
