regens

Post by CrockerNHL »

OK, guys. Regarding to "regens" - I have learned the lesson. As Albert Einstein said:
"Only two things are infinite, the Universe and human stupidity and I am not sure about the former".
Joking, of course......My main message is that we all make mistakes and the important thing is to treat people the way we'd want people to treat us in the same circumstances.

I know this thread is ancient but I had to add to it. Hasek regen was ranked #128 in the final rankings which I've never read happening to anyone else. Not that I'm saying it hasn't happened I just haven't read it anywhere. Anyway, I was hoping he may fall to me at 28 but the Flyers took him 23 overall. Guess thats the way it goes.

When does the Hasek regen normally show up. Im approaching the 2010 draft and there is only 1 czech goalie ranked and he is 6 ft. so im assuming thats not him. Although i do think i may have the Irbe regen, but no Hasek or at least that i can see.

I pick my in the 2010 draft, he retired in 07. I picked him in 3rd overall he is awesome. In 2 years he's certainly my goal keeper #1. Most powerful Hasek regen i ever see. He play for the Drakkar in the LHJMQ and i'm in the beginning of the 2011-2012 season and he have a 6-0-0 with 6 shootouts :-D Just sick.

I always assumed regens were generated at the beginning of the season following retirement; i.e. when the game does its ingame updating - or is that in January (I forget)?

They do get generated the season after they retire (I think at the July 1st mark but could be wrong) but when you see them in the NHL draft depends on what country they come from. Canadians regenerate at age 14, while Russians regen at age 17, IIRC.

Okay, after about an hour of searching i think i may have found my Hasek regen in my Sharks game. It's 08-09 and There's a czech goaltender ranked #18 for the upcoming draft. I'm thinking this guy here is Hasek:

He's not Hasek regen. Hasek was born in Pardubice. This player can be Jiri Trvaj regen, if he retired in your game.

As far as I know the regen doesn't have to be born in the same town as the player that he's a regen of, I think the place of born is random for regens.

I believe it's the Hasek regen you've found there. Birth town can change, but not nationality. You should also check that he is acrobatic.

Also, I wouldnt use a 1st round pick on THAT Hasek regen. With determination 2 he is not likely to develop very quickly...

Oh sweet. This is my first regen finding :D I just had 3 of my scouts watch him and they do say he has an acrobatic style. He is projected to be a more talented version of Marc-Andre Fleury :joy: So I shouldn't take him with a first rounder bcuz of his Determination(2)?

Even if it's the Forsberg, Sakic or whatever regen you should never take a prospect with 2 of determination, the lowest i can go is 10. The consistancy could be good but a bad determination is a bad determination.

It's your choice. For me even in the 7 round if he still there i won't take him :-D The determination is a key in the development of a player. So the more this attribute is low the more you've got the chance to never see him getting to the NHL. I would prefer a youngster with less good overall but like 13 Det and 14 work rate than a talented Hasek regen that just have a 2 in Det.

I don't know how to express it in english correctly lol but a 2 in determination is like : Well i have a good talent in goaltending, but don't wanna do anything because i already know that i have a good potential. Let the team draft me and get me to the NHL whitout move one arm. Don't know if you understand, but it's a little bit like this :thdn:

Don't forget that determination can rise in the game, too. It doesn't happen very often but it can happen.

I've seen Alex Ponikovsky's determination rising by 3 points. Not sure how to influence this attribute though, maybe it was because of players with a high determination on the same line, or because he was playing good..

Just because they're a regen of a great player doesn't mean they'll be great. It just means they've got the potential and some attributes the same. They could be really weak in a couple areas that are vital to their position. Plus, like everyone else who has mentioned it, I hate players with low determination.

Yes i was really impress when i saw him. The left column is a little weak, but he only have 19 yrs old :-D Sadly because of he's age i can't send him in the AHL, because he his ready for it, last season he finish with something like 47-6-2, 954% and a 1.10 GAA.
