I dunno about that. I have won the cup 2 seasons in a row, and have the likes of Thornton, Malkin, Kopitar, Phaneuf, Boyle, Kaberle, JVR, and Kipprusoff on my squad. And i rarely sell out a game.

It was a joke in reference to the NHL's idea that their new "form-fitting" uniform systems would spark fan interest.

And it was brilliant! The joke, not the idea :D

Hardcore fans. Winning games. Signing the stars.

I usually play Detroit and am always second only to Montreal in tickets sold. That's Montreal whether they suck or not.

Winning games, singing the superstars, making fans happy, like defending some players, praising them etc.

Does anyone know if the fanbase improves or declines as the game goes on in a long career? I usually play no more than 5 or 6 seasons before restarting but I'm wondering if you took one of the teams with the worst fanbases in the NHL and made them a contender for 10-20 years, would they improve to become passionate or hardcore fan? You'd hope that continual winning would improve your ticket sales.

I am in 2022 in my game. The Canuck fan base has not changed, but I could check some other teams. Still hardcore, still selling out, still 6th in the league because of bigger arenas. I will check...Florida has had alot of success in my game over the years...except they cannot win the cup for some funny reason named Unknown User... :-D

I think Hardcore is as high as it goes. I'm curious to see what some of the other teams have managed to do though.

In March of 2022 here are the FAN BASE ratings. Someone will have to check back for start of game ratings. Me lazy.

Vancouver Canucks HARDCORE
Columbus Blue Jackets Passionate
Anaheim Ducks: Good
Minnesota Wild: passionate
Edmonton Oilers: Hardcore
LA Kings: passionate
nashville preds" good
Chicago Blackhawks: passionate
San Jose Sharks: passionate
calgary flames: hardcore
Detroit Red Wings: hardcore
Dallas Stars: passionate
St Louis, Phoenix, Colorado: All passionate

Montreal. Toronto, Phiiladelphia, NY RAngers: HARDCORE

Tampa, Florida, Carolina, New Jersey, Atlanta: good

Boston,Buffalo, Washington, Ottawa, Pittsburgh, NY ISlanders, PAssionate.

Judging from how things were when the EHM game was made...I would say it does not change over time.

Yeah, it's looking like it doesn't change. That's a shame.

And do the Rangers really have Hardcore fan base in real life? I would think New Jersey would have better than "Good" too.

Rangers fan base is hugely hard core. Just go there and hear them shred the guys who they hate. Chelios is a great example. So many guys get soooooo razzed in that barn
