Yeah, that's what it seems to be. I'm just a bit concerned about them getting weaker on defense. They didn't have much depth there to begin with.

That kind of trade makes me a little bit angry. I think it's disrespecful for Eaves to use him like this. He should be piddle off at the moment but, it's the reality of the NHL.

Derek Morris goes to Bruins (3,3 millions, one-year-contract). I think that Bruins aren't going to make new contract with Phil Kessel.

Now thats why Bruins traded Ward away. As for Kessel, why wouldn't they offer him a contract? Is he going to be traded?

Maybe, but Morris's salaries are bigger than Ward's salaries. If they really want keep Kessel, the better way should been that they keep Ward in Bruins cause of Ward's lower salaries.

If they want get more cap space I think that it would been smarter to replace Eaves to another draft pick or an unsigned prospect.

WOW! I did NOT expect the Bruins to sign Morris. What the heck is going on there. Chiarelli keeps saying he expects Kessel to be with the Bruins next season. He says he will match offer sheets if somebody makes one. So who is getting shipped out so that they'll have the money to sign Kessel? This one is a head-scratcher. They got their puck-moving defenseman but they still don't have Kessel signed or extra money to do so.

I don't get this... Is Kessel a Restricted Free Agent now? Or at the end of the 09-10 season?

I really can't imagine the Bruins without Kessel, for me it was like the franchise player of the concession. A guy of this talent on the trade block will make other GM going crazy. :-D

Possibly they move Savard, he's got only one year left on his contract. :-k
Bergeron and Kessel should stay with the team.;)

Kessel is an RFA. I think he's still got a few years before he's a UFA. I think the big holdup between him and the Bruins is that he's wanting UFA money when he's still an RFA. He should be signing for a contract similar to the one Krejci sign, maybe a little bit more than that.

If they move Savard, I don't think it will happen until closer to the trade deadline. I can't see them trading him before the start of the season. They're kind of short at center to start because both Krejci and Kessel (if he re-signs) will miss the start of the season due to rehabbing from their surgeries.

If the bruins trade Savard I will probably cry, somehow they need to manage to trade Ference and Kobasew to free up space.

If anyone (other than Kessel) is moved it's likely to be Kobasew. His role is the most easy to fill be guys making a lot less than him. I don't know if he'd free up enough money alone though. I don't think they can afford to trade away Ference though. They just don't have the depth at D to do that.

Well an era has come to an end. PJ Axelsson has played what appears to be his final season in the NHL. He's signed a 4 year deal with him home team Frolunda. PJ may have never been the flashiest player or much of a scorer but he hustled his tail off and always gave 110%. He was a great defensive forward. It's a shame he never won a Selke because he really did deserve one. He'll be missed by Bruins fans!

That's a shame! PJ is one of my favourite players on EHM, and my personal defensive forward to go with. He was my first acquisition in my Blackhawks dynasty. Good ol' times.

In real life his game hasn't been as sharp over the last couple years. In EHM, he was much better than real life lately. Still, in his prime he was an amazing defensive forward!

He was and he is an underated player. A lot of person were talking about him like he was a fourth line foward with no offensive skill, but that kind of person doesn't really know hockey at all lol :-D I see something a bruins fan wrote on the RDS website and he was saying that the loss of Axelsson is like a loss of ''stability'' for the team. For me, i think it's sad for the Bruins because they lose a great defensive player and some player like Axelsson are a rare thing to found.

The reason the Bruins let Axelsson go is because his defensive forward role can be filled by somebody else for less money. That's the way things work in the salary cap era.

This counts as news but however much people give a darn about it but here it is Vaclav Prospal is now a UFA. That was just a terrible signing by the bolts. And Frantisek Kaberle is also a UFA after being dropped by the Canes today or sometime yesterday.

Toronto traded Anton Strålman, Colin Stuart and 7nd round pick (2012) for Calgary's Wayne Primeau and 2nd round pick (2011). Toronto won the trade cause of 2nd round pick but i think that Toronto will put Primeau to waivers and then to AHL if nobody claim him. Calgary get good offensive defenseman in AHL, but maybe not too good to play in NHL. He's like Petteri Nummelin was in Wild, but Nummelin didn't play in AHL, cause he was so great in powerplay. But Nummelin is better than Strålman could ever be.

Sergei Zubov, 39, goes to KHL. He made 2-year-contract with St. Petersburg. That is from Russian magazine "Sport-Ekspress"

That's very sad. He was one of my favourite players in NHL. :-(

So his great NHL-career is over. He played 1068 games and make 771 points. He won two Stanley Cups (New York Rangers 1994 and Dallas Stars 1999).

I guess Zubov wasn't getting any NHL offers that he liked. I'm guessing he was getting a bunch of 1 year deals for short money.

He's not been healthy much. Maybe nobody was willing to take a punt on a old, frail D-man.
