RFA's

Post by renos »

Are there any restricted free agents in the game??? Whenever I search for them I don't get any results, nor do I see any when looking through the players contracts. For example Phil Kessel should be an RFA in 2009 but it says that the contract will expire and he will be a UFA in 2009. Is this just in my game or is it the same for you too?

Thanks guys.

When you search for upcoming RFAs, in Player Search under Filters make sure to select Contract, Expiring and then RFA Group II or RFA Group II UQ (unqualified). To find a player who is currently a RFA, select Contract, Free Agent and then RFA Group II.

Thanks for the response but I didn't get any results.

However, when I search for UFA's I still see some of the UFA players still have their rights with their former team. Maybe the UFA's and RFA's are mixed in with eachother? :dunno:

Okay try this:

Player Search - Rights - NHL Rights

It will bring up RFAs who are playing in Europe and players who have been drafted but not signed.

It's a little odd how the RFA search function works. In my current game if I set Contract - Free Agent - RFA no one shows up, but if I select Contract - Expired - RFA I get 7 players. Also, on July 1 you often see a ton of RFAs but many are released on July 2. Also remember that any RFA who is unqualified on July 1 becomes a UFA.
