How can I add face pictures for players/staff in my database

Post by Avalanchebtz »

Hi everyones,

I am new on the forum. I already saw you purpose to download some update for the faces of the players.
I looked at it but there is not all the pictures of my favorite team the Avalanche.
I tried to do it myself but it didn't work out.
I went on the Avalanche official website and saved a picture of Jose Theodore with the new avalanche jersey. The picture saved was a .jpg.
I saved it as Jose_Theodore_13_9_1976.jpg and renamed it as Jose_Theodore_13_9_1976.ehg.
To finish I replaced the old picture in the ehm database by the new one.
When I start a new game, the place of the picture in the player profile is totally empty.
My game version is NHL EHM 2005 v2.1.3. TR.

Can somebody help me on this matter ??

Thanks in advance.

All I know is that .ehg is EHM's version of a .jpg. (I think)

Ask Minty, he'll know.

Pictures will work in the game if they are saved as .png files, to do this you a graphics programme that can save files as png fils, not sure of any free ones myself(Minty?) but you can get a 30 day trial of Paint Shop Pro X which will do the job here you need to register to be able to download the trial btw

Gimp is free, but I find it hard to use.

It's Photoshop with a different interface :)

You can save them as jpg, png or rename a jpg to ehg.

Check Theodore's date of birth in the game. It might be that it is different to what you have put in the file name. Also, you could try reversing the day and month, i.e. try Jose_Theodore_9_13_1976.jpg instead of Jose_Theodore_13_9_1976.jpg.

I think Arch what meant is that sometimes they get flipped in the database so you can make them show by flipping day/month to month/day so the card file name matches the database you're running :tiptap:

In the database of Lidas 1.1, there were the dates of birth to 2 years changed and comply no longer with the most images.

look here and note the post of bobmcgoo

Ok so I am using Lidas 1.1, which is the best set of cards to download from this site? Which other packs would work with that database?

When I say 'best' I mean with minimal filename editing. I can do this but I am unsure which facepacks to do this with. Thanks for the link to Total Commander.

One of my favorite things about this game is collecting the cards. In my game I want every player to have a face. Even if it is an old card from an obscure 4th liner.

Ok looks like the big file that Honnegger complied together of all the facepacks on TBL has been deleted.

Anyway heres the links for the ECHL packs I done some time agao:
ECHL Pack 1
ECHL Pack 2
ECHL Pack 3
ECHL Update Pack 1

And heres Lidas' UEFA pack 2. I can't remember if his UEFA Pack 1 was designed for the LidasDB.

All the above packs metioned don't require any filename changes.

Hope this helps.

Check this thread, too. No need to rename the files.
Still some player pictures missing? ;)

Yes it does. Thanks.

How many cards does everyone else have in their decks? And how many pics are actually in use in a given db?

What does UEFA stand for?

I have about 10,000 or so TBL style cards for the players and about 1,500 TBL cards for the staff.

UEFA stands for (in the words of Lidas):
U - Unclaimed players - players with no NHL-rights
E - European-based players
FA - Free Agents

All Cards that are aged two years (i.e. two years taken away from their D.O.B's) will work with the LidasDB 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3. All Cards that are aged three years will work with the new LidasDB 2.0.

To make them work with all the LidasDB's all you have to do is change the D.O.B's of the players by either two or three years, depending on the DB you are using.

Hope this helps!!

Welcome to The Blue Line.

Did you put the pictures directly into your players folder: NHL Eastside Hockey Manager 2007\data\pictures\players

They should be located directly in that folder (and not in a subfolder).

I have a strange problem/question.

Saw this forum a couple of weeks ago and decided to add my own photos for players that don't have one in the game (EHM 2005) such as Crosby, Ovechkin etc. All the players I added I saved in the same format Player_Name_Day_Month_Year.jpg. Weirdly, only about half of the players I added now display an image when you click on them in game.

Investigating further, even some of the files already in the pictures folder don't show in game e.g. Andrew Raycroft.

Does anyone have any idea why this is or how to resolve?

Try reversing the month and day for one of the players. Does this make a difference?

Thanks for the suggestion - it worked for Raycroft but it looks like the file had the day and month the wrong way beforehand.

Looking at the folder again, I'm wondering if there's a limit on the number of images it can handle. The players that aren't showing are now in alphabetical order at the bottom of the folder. When I was getting the images, I went alphabetically by current team so now seeing the players that aren't showing in a list, it's obvious they all play for Florida or lower.

Unless there are any other suggestions, I'll try deleting some of the images of players I don't want.

I have several thousand images in my folder without any difficulty. :-k

Do you want to post a couple of the filenames in this thread of the images that aren't working? Take a look in your game or in the Pre-Game Editor to check that the names are spelt correctly and the DOBs are correct.

These are a few that aren't working:

Alexander_Edler_21_4_1986.jpeg Alexander_Semin_3_3_1984.jpeg Alexandre_Burrows_11_4_1981.jpeg Chris_Stewart_30_10_1987.jpeg Claude_Giroux_12_1_1988.jpeg Evgeni_Malkin_31_7_1986.jpeg Marc_Staal_13_1_1987.jpeg Shea_Weber_14_8_1985.jpeg

If it was just a handful, I would put it down to typos but there are just too many (over 150) and they are all the ones I added most recently.

What database are you using? Do the dates match what is showing in game? Also I'm not sure if jpeg wil have any difference as opposed to jpg. The other that show are they also a jpeg format? Also make sure that you do not have dupliacte files with different extensions. I beleive there is a hirearchy to the preferred extension.

You are a legend!

For some reason, the first batch I did are saved as .jpg (which are showing) while later ones are .jpeg (not showing). Just changed a couple of them to .jpg and now they show.

Thanks for the help.
