In today's NHL we have 19 year old captains and kids not old enough to drink scoring 30 goals a season.

Age these days in meaningless.

The Yotes have many solid veteran players now.

Robert Lang, Adrian Aucoin, Vern Fiddler, Jovocop, Shane Doan to name a few.

Jevgeni Artjuhin has banned for 3 games, cause of his slew-foot-tackled Matt Niskanen. He can play next time in 31st october, when Ducks meet 'Yotes.

Agree with the Coyotes situation. Here you can see that Gretzky isn't much a coach...

Gretzky really seemed clueless.

He tried to take away their personal creativity and play a rigid system game.

That might have worked with 20 veterans.

Tippet insists on defense and then let your offensive improv go to work.

Look at this unbelievable goal that Ondrej Pavelec let tonight against Washington. Jeff Schultz dumped the puck from his own defensive zone and it ended in Pavelec's net

Very bad luck. It wasn't Pavelec's goal, puck changed its direction near him goal and bounced just before him. Bouncing pucks ain't easy for goalies.

That's was really a garbage goal. It's not the fault of Pavelec because the puck was bouncing randomly. But if it wasn't of this goal the game will be 4-4 so they would have go in OT and maybe earn a little point. Some badluck happen sometimes. ](*,)

How does Evgeni Artyukin get suspended for 3 games for a "slewfoot" on Matt Niskanen. Whereas Alex Ovechkin doesn't. 1 rule for players, another set of rules for the stars?

I've looked at both incidents and there isnt much difference. Artyukins looks worse as it is along the boards...

But aren't they the same thing?

Ovechkin is a first time offender, Artyukin pulls s*** off on a regular basis.

But he is Ovetshkin, first line forward, one of the best players in NHL. Artyukhin is only 3rd line power forward, not important player in NHL history. Maybe that's the point, and I don't like that.

Sure, but that doesn't effect the fact that guys like Mueller, Bødker etc are a few seasons away from delivering on a consistent basis at the best of their ability.

Not to mention that Gretzky probably rushed many of their young guys in to the NHL too early.

They'll probably have one hell of a team in a few years when most or their current prospects start nearing their mid 20's though.

Repeat offenders are punished harsher in pretty much all legal systems, why should the NHL be any different?

Ovechkin gets a fine this time and will probably get suspended if something similar happens in the future.

Ovechkin is the best player in NHL, but like underrated players most.

Getzlaf is right when he say that the NHL protect more the superstar, but it's also true that Arthyukin is a piece of s*** and it's not is first suspension. I think the NHL is too sof sometimes, oups not sometimes, OFTEN. :-D

I've never tell you that Ronc but i really like your avatar. :-p

That Mitchell's hit on Toews was great stuff =D> The play shouldn't get stopped, however. The Hawks stood up for their captain, but they should have watched their own end instead. Weird decision :dunno:

More woe for the Nucks as Demitra's recuperation may last longer than expected. I've read it's possible he won't be getting back this season.

Is Demitra's injury so bad? :-o I imagine that he is only few weeks away, i didn't think that he could be away whole season.

Can't remember where i read this but i think i read something like he was going to be back in a couple of weeks. Maybe i was wrong, poor Demitra, a great talent but always injured. :-(

Canucks' offical website says his injury status has been changed from six weeks out to "indefinitely". And yeah, Philou, it's definitely bad news for Demitra :\

TSN reported he had to have another surgery on the shoulder and yes, the talk is possibly out for the season. :(

So Nashville GM David Polie was apparently very upset over the Phil Kessel trade as Burke's offer was way over the top.

Now it looks as though the Predators may lose out of Frolov as well. The Eastern Conference is the likely desitnation as the Kings would rather ship the slumping forward out of their division. IF Frolov is actually traded, the Canadiens have young NHL ready assets to offer in return.

Kostitsyn for example.

The Canadiens are one of the team in the rumor that will ''maybe interest'' in is service, but i don't think they have the cap space for it, exept if they included Harmlik in the trade. Plus, dumping a lazy for another.....i'm not sure of it. Frolov as some good seasons but since, it's like he's vanished.

Seems like Kings' biggest issue with Frolov is his approach to the game, so trading him for Kostitsyn doesn't look sensible to me. But we will see. Frolov's certainly slowed down a bit recently.

Tuomo Ruutu's got a game misconduct penalty for boarding Darcy Tucker during the CAR-COL game. Reports say Tucker is going to be out for at least ten days with concussion. I've always liked him, so I hope it's nothing too bad.

I agree with what you're saying. But if you go to court over an offense you may have commited. Saying "it's my first time" won't keep you out of jail. :-p
