2006 Olympic New Jerseys Available!

Post by BlackCats101 »

Any chance of a special (and limited edition :-p) olympic kit pack for the news graphics Minty? The other international shirts are out of date now.....

On another matter, although I believe that this might have been discussed in another thread, Is it possible to have the olympic logo (or even better, the Torino 2006 logo beneath the ice but in a way that wouldn't affect the domestic club games within that arena? ie the logos only show up in that particular tournament

I changed the topic name so people can find the file... -Minty

I don't think we'd be able to get the logo to work functionally. As mentioned in the international ices thread the big problem with tournaments is that often the rinks get neither a home or away designation but a N for neutral. Without a file for the game to access "This is Germany's rink" it's impossible to designate an ice to them.

A "cheat" for it though could be to during the Olympics in the game replace the default ice markings file with one with the Torino logo. It would then be used for all ices that don't have a specially designed ice. You could then replace it with the standard 'blank' rink markings after the Olympics are completed. I think that's as close as we'd get.

As for new jersey updates I actually just posted this in our Admin forum on that very topic:

I've been looking into the new Olympic jerseys to update that set but not all the images are available yet.

From those I've seen though Russia, Czech, Sweden and Slovakia are slightly different due to a different jersey design but with the same logos, USA's are a bit different and I don't know which of their seven bilion jerseys the Canadians will actually end up wearing  Latvia's, Germany's and home country Italy's are completely different from the ones in my current set.

I figure it will take a few days yet for the sources to become fully available but keep an eye out as yeah it is high on my to-do list 8-)

The new Nike ones, from what I have seen (and I am a keen observer of new shirt changes-you should see my football forums ), have the two stripes along the middle of the arm*..as seen in the US and Canada ones here. I'm pretty sure that the rest on this site are from the World Champs and before though...it is surprisingly hard to get any new pics...

* edit-the new kits also have the vertical stripes on the socks as seen here:

Yeah, they are all about the stripes... every jersey has them. They mainly echo the team's flag colors.

How do I know? Because I just finished and put up on the server my 2006 Olympic News Jerseys set! :-D :joy:

Here's a direct link to the screenshot that features all 11 jerseys. 12th team is Kazakstan and there are no graphics available anywhere for it... :dunno: I already have a Kazak jersey in my original set though so they're still covered just not with a 2006 update.

Enjoy!

I downloaded these and they are fab, but I was wondering-how can I stop the competition logo, eg the European Hockey Tour taking precedence over the jersey when I get international news?

eg in my pictures folder I have a separate 'news' folder, where you new jerseys are. I have all my competition logos in side the logos folder...

Bizarrely enough, Germany works fine-and occassionaly the USA jersey appears, but other times I get the Deutschland cup logo-what gives?:dunno:

Thanks :-D I believe munky was just being funny... considering calling for the Admin of a board to be dragged out and shot is an easy way to find yourself :banned:

As for the jerseys in the game all you can do is make sure they are in your news->nations folder. Their appearance in regard to national team play news depends upon what the news item is programmed to display. If it isn't programmed to show a team news item and instead to show a competition icon it doesn't look to display a team news graphic. :dunno:

This however is a compiled screenshot of my Carolina team's Olympic Selection News displaying the new jerseys.

I was attempting to be funny.

I don't like what Nike has done to the once awesome national team uniforms. They've managed to make every team look more or less the same. It's LAME. The socks themselves are about the goofiest looking thing I've seen on an athlete.

Being a comedian myself I figured you were joking ;) I don't think they are that bad; I quite like the new Latvian jersey for sure. The similar elements approach does give the whole thing a bit less individuality and personality. I think I actually just dislike the concept that Nike who is like the freakin' corporate Borg has consumed another "property" taking over the design of all the jerseys and adding their logo...

I always figure that's just because I'm old enough to remember a time when every piece of clothing in the whole world wasn't plastered with advertising for the company that created it :dunno:

Awesome work as always Minty, I hope my fellow Canuckers don't get too mad at me for throwing my weight behind the Ovechkin Federation.

darn but they've looked goooooooooood from what I've seen :-o I think the US made a high amount of boneheaded picks especially our Wheelchair Brigade defense... so I can't say I'm expecting them to do much more than possibly not embarrass themselves.

My grandma was born in a small village outside of Prague (and she actually always referred to herself as Bohemian) before her family came here to Chicago to work in the stockyards when she was like 8. So I reserve the right to back the Czechs too; that's why I put Czech as my secondary nationality on Team TBL in memory of my Grandma; she was awesome. :-D
