In my first two games I got two wins, scored 8 goals and conceded 3. :-D

I see no Bobby Carpenter...

Unless you're talking about the Dallas Cowboys player :-p

But in all seriousness, I didn't find him as staff or a player.

Right on - hope I can start that well. Who did you hire for your asst coach spot if you didn't grab Carpenter?

:-p

Nice CatchUp. I haven't hired anyone for the spot yet... I'm waiting for a head coach to get sacked and hire him instead. I never get a top tier coach, I find that too easy, just one that is on the boarder of head/assistant. I never like who I get to start with, so I wait patiently.

Hmmm looks like I have some competition... no more losing for me! :-p

Haha well I gotta tighten up the tactics.
I expect to win 45+ games this year by the way we're playing.

Hell I've gotten 50 with worse teams than this one... it depends on my tactics. I like my gameplan to be flawless.

First time challenge for me, and looking at the roster if i make 8th il treat it as a cup win :joy:

and my biggest challenge i think will to get lines 2-4 to score goals the offensive depth is non-existant for the Avs

Not sure where this goes but il ask anyway :dunno:

If i sign a couple of the european prospects, but they dont turn up until the next season does that infringe on any quoatas?

As long as they are on your "unsigned prospects" list you should be alright, as long as they agree to sign with you before October 1st.

I'm personally have yet to hit training camp, but I may need to restart after the first confirmed trade in the league came through:

To Philadelphia: Ilya Bryzgalov
To Phoenix: Danny Briere and the rights to Adam Morrison

I hate when realism goes out the window by September 5th.

Michael Peca signed with the Islanders.

He would be a huge help :)

You are allowed to fire one head coach and two scouts in the first season...so you could fire one of your coaches and hire someone new.

Personally, I hired Bob Hartley. Can you say future Head Coach? I think yes. 8-)

And in my game Peca just signed with the Rags.

I changed my mind and sent Duchene down. I can get by with the tons of C's that are on the roster. He didn't play all that well in the 3 games I had him up and so he and O'Reilly both went back to the O. I also ended up signing Shattenkirk and sending him back to Guelph.

Yeah, Duchene didn't really do well in preseason in a bunch of circumstances, so I sent him down as well... seems the team's fate rests on Svatos and Tucker...

I tried to get Keenan as AC, but he went to Rangers. My 2nd choice was Hartley, but he went somewhere else... to Sens I think.

Those were the two I made initial offers to - but I didnt get any of them. Next, I started looking in Sweden. Roger Melin is always a good option, but he didnt want to come... Finally, I grabbed another Swede, coaching in Rumania. Ulf Weinstock..

As for Duchene and O'Reilly. I intend to give them both a chance with the Avs. Duchene on the 2nd line, and on 2nd PP, and O'Reilly on a defensive 4th line and on first PK. Havent played any games yet, so I'll just wait and see how it goes...

Ulf Weinstock is good, I use him usually in my games. He is often willing to go to NHL.

I ended up choosing an AC for Tactics and Conditioning (this team is s...l...o...w... ) - my 1st choice stayed in Sweden, so I ended up with Bennett (yes the scout, but what coaching attributes he has)

just getting ready to start the regular season... Duchene, in 2 games, is Player of the Month in juniors LOL - maybe I should have kept him :(

Looks like all the players below the top 4-5 were taken/signed for one attribute - has a wristshot, no slapshot, or pass; can shoot/can pass/can hit, can't anything else

it is exciting when Willsie gets a goal, though :D

oh, did everyone else get 29th/30th for both teams in the Season Preview?

just saw - Looch as a top 10 LW - he's good, but talk about some man-crush! LOL... and Kessel is the top prospect in the league... interesting draw :)
