I have been meaning to ask where you guys have Ryan Wilson. He started real slow in Lake Erie for me. Then around game 15 he went on a tear with 8 points in 6 games. I called him up after he had played 25 games and was 6-7-13. His rating was low, but he was wanting to be called up. (7.64 rating). His last 10 games though his rating was 9.0.
So I did...he has now played 4 games for me and is 0-3-3 avg rating 7.75. More importantly in those games my team has started to score. I have 3,4,4,5 goals. My Power play has started to click in these games as well...almost 20%
God I hope this keeps up.

Red Wings, Flames, Ducks are top in the west, Panthers (!), Devils and Habs the east.
Currently, Liles, Stastny and Svatos are out for me, so the next games might get ugly.
Svatos will miss 3 months, Liles 3 weeks. Stastny has already missed 7 games, but fortunately he is DTD now.
Now, I'm trying to dress 7 defenders, with Foote getting time on the PK and Wilson (just called up) getting time on the PP.
Lottery pick, here we come! ;D

Ryan Wilson has been playing in Lake Erie for me for the whole season so far. In 58 games for them he has 25 points, a +15, 87 PIM, and a 7.43 average rating. I'm going to keep him down there at least for the rest of this season. I'm not sure what my plans are for my defense next year. I haven't re-signed Salei because I feel he's asking too much. And Liles has been very disappointing for a $4M defenseman. He might have to be traded once I'm allowed. So maybe that will open up a spot for Wilson?batdad wrote:I have been meaning to ask where you guys have Ryan Wilson. He started real slow in Lake Erie for me. Have they lost 120 man games to injury in your game in the first month and a bit? cause in real life...they have.tksolway wrote:The Nucks allways seem way to powerful in this game. They are always the best team in the league for the first 5 years of the sim, unless I steal Luongo away from them. I think their players ratings need to be looked at because they are certainly not that dominant in real life.

Wonder how any team would do without their top guns? ANyway, not sure they need to be reduced as they are 18-14-2 in my game...7th place in West. Seems about right. And by no means have I seen them dominate the west at all in this game. Except when I am their GM...

Seriously? Stastny is THE MAN on this team. Duchene might be at some point but right now I can't complain about Stastny at all. He's got an 8.95 rating for me. And he's made Wolski a better player.
What's crazy is that Quincey is my man on defense. He's got a 7.92 average rating with 27 points, a +2, and 93 PIM through 65 games. Preissing and Clark have more points but Quincey is playing a more complete game.

Yeah, Stastny is really the player to look at. 8.60 and 72 points in 62 games for me so far, even though he missed some games due to injury at some point. Wolski and Hejduk/Svatoš are nice wingers for him.bruins72 wrote:Seriously? Stastny is THE MAN on this team. Duchene might be at some point but right now I can't complain about Stastny at all. And I can have no complaints about Quincey either, though Preissing surprised me even more. They're both maybe not playing stellar, but contributing at a decent level. Liles is somewhat disappointing, that has to be said.

I've had to flip-flop between Hejduk and Svatos on the top line wing too. One of them will get in a rut on whatever line they're on and then they'll need a change of scenery for a bit. Plus, I've had Hensick centering my second line (even strength only) due to Duchene's lack of stamina. So that second line is actually pretty weak. Hensick really isn't 2nd line center worthy and there is no true second line LW either. It makes it hard for whichever RW I've got playing on that line to stay hot. I really do need some help at LW though. I've tried Durno, McLeod, Tucker, Willsie and Haydar in that position with limited short-term success at most. If I could actually get something going there, we'd be a whole lot better.Círyatan wrote: Yeah, Stastny is really the player to look at. 8.60 and 72 points in 62 games for me so far, even though he missed some games due to injury at some point. I've mostly played Tucker as a 2nd line LW, with Hensick stepping in at times. Not a great solution, but it has to do for now. Tucker seems to have a couple of good games, before falling into a slumber, and then again he has a few hot performances. Yes, a 2nd line left winger would certainly be a good addition to this squad.bruins72 wrote:I've had to flip-flop between Hejduk and Svatos on the top line wing too. Duchene's been doing ok, not superb but steady, and no stamina issues for me here. I tried slotting Durno o left wing, but he seems to be a 3rd line centre, at best, and usually centres my 4th line.
Oh, and are you planning to re-sign Tucker? He doesn't seem to be willing to accept a pay cut. Quincey's been asking for over 1.2M, and I'm beginning to think he's worth it already.

I might get a couple good games out of Tucker before he does something to earn himself a trip down the the bottom of the lineup. He'll have a game with a huge number of penalties or something stupid. Or his play will drag down the play of his linemates. He just hasn't been worth the trouble.Círyatan wrote: I've mostly played Tucker as a 2nd line LW, with Hensick stepping in at times. So you've got Duchene on both your 2nd line and your 2nd PP? He just seems to get too tired when I do that. Maybe it's my training. He's already had to drop to General training though. On my PP, I've got Hensick playing Duchene's LW and that works out okay. I wish I could do it at even strength too but I just can't manage it.Círyatan wrote:Duchene's been doing ok, not superb but steady, and no stamina issues for me here. I've found that I actually liked Durno on the LW a bit more than at center. He seems more productive.
Yeah, Quincey got the $1.2M from me. I got him to sign a 3 year deal for that much. I think it was worth it.Círyatan wrote:Oh, and are you planning to re-sign Tucker? I did re-sign Tucker. I signed him for 1 more year at about the same money that he was making in the first season. We'll see what happens in the off-season. Maybe I can unload him to another team for a good return? Either way, I'm not sure that I'm going to keep him on the roster next season. We'll see what happens.

My team sucks against the bottom feeders. For the life of me I can not beat the Wild, who are last overall. I have swept the Canucks, who are tied with me at top of our division.
For those with Left Wing Issues ever think of training and playing Chris Stewart there? I did that in year 1 and 2 and he produced 50 points in year one. Not great, but better then the Tucker's, Willse's and McLoed's of the world.

Yes, I've got Duchene centering both 2nd line and 2nd PP, flanked mostly by Svatoš and Tucker. And I have no problems with his stamina, but then I do not like to apply hard training schedules. So this might be the case with him getting tired quickly.bruins72 wrote:So you've got Duchene on both your 2nd line and your 2nd PP? He just seems to get too tired when I do that. Too few productive LW, too few reliable C on this team. Looking forward to bringing up O'Reilly next season. Been rocking up the OHL (84 points in 59 games so far).

Quincey's definitely getting what he wants. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with Tucker yet, I like the guy, but he is very chaotic. I presume he'll get a year, maybe two, I don't want to lose him as an option, and he certainly can get me a pick someday.bruins72 wrote:Yeah, Quincey got the $1.2M from me. I've got no problem with beating the Wild, but I do against the Nucks. I guess it just shows how much this team is inconsistent.Johnnyluc wrote:My team sucks against the bottom feeders. And, you know what, that idea of using Stewart on LW might be an interesting one. The guy's sure got talent.

Make sure you don't trade Tucker for a draft pick. Under the challenge rules you're not allowed to trade for draft picks.Círyatan wrote: Quincey's definitely getting what he wants. Looking at the Bruins in my game...
Sturm - Savard - Wheeler
Brunette - Bergeron - Ryder
Lucic - Sutherby - Neidermayer
M. Kariya - M. Johnson - Recchi
Wideman - Chara
C. White - Morris
Stuart - Ference
Thomas - Sabourin
Looking at that lineup, it's not too hard to believe that they're in first place.

Martin Kariya? That is hilarious. And yeah a pretty solid team there.
In my game here is what they look like, and they are in 9th in the East halfway through
Sturm-Savard-Ryder
Thornton-Bergeron-Wheeler
Lucic-Niedermeyer-Petrovicky
Begin-Rasmussen-Riendeau
Stuart-Wiedman
Ference-Morris
Sandrock-McQuaid
Thomas
Rask
Chara and Krejci day to day injuries. Rasmussen, Petrovicky and Sandrock are all UFAs they signed. Recchi was waived...Flyers grabbed him. And Niedermeyer came from Devils with a prospect for Matt Hunwick.
Now I just posted my stats through 40 games...I think I have lost my touch for scoring.](./images/smilies/wallbash.gif)

Yeah, I was a bit surprised to see him there. The funny thing is, he is dressed for my game against them but Begin is sitting. Why?batdad wrote:Martin Kariya? That is hilarious. And yeah a pretty solid team there.
Krejci got traded to the Devils for Colin White in my game. Hunwick got traded to the Predators for Colin Wilson. Are they collecting Colins? They picked up Brunette for Bodnarchuk and Sauve (who in real life is having a great year in the Q). Colborn was sent to Carolina for Aaron Ward, even though the B's aren't playing Ward right now. He played 3 games for them so far and didn't do well. They got Sutherby for 4th and 5th round picks. Neidermayer cost them Paille. Mike Johnson, Peter Schaefer, and Martin Kariya are their notable (if you want to call it that) free agent acquisitions.batdad wrote: Chara and Krejci day to day injuries. That's okay. You're defensive tactics more than make up for it. I can usually score but I have trouble keeping my GAA down.batdad wrote:Now I just posted my stats through 40 games...I think I have lost my touch for scoring.
