Yesterday I watched Jokerit-Ässät, only because Teemu Pulkkinen debuted in League (he's just 16 years old). Pulkkinen got +/- 0, two (very stupid) minor penalties and few good shots. Game itself was quite boring, but it was sooo nice, when Jokerit scored, because near sitted the "wisest man of Pori"
. He focused more to diss Jokerit's players and fans than support Ässät. Game ended 2-3, but Jokerit got great ecstasy in the end. I left Hartwall Areena in a good mood, because in the end, Jokerit really began to play great hockey. I was watching HPK-Jokerit in Tuesday 18th Nov and Jokerit-KalPa exactly a week later. HPK-Jokerit ended 4-3 and Jokerit-KalPa 2-1.

Last game I attended was Minnesota at Vancouver back in November of 2007, Vancouver hammered the Wild 6-2
, Ohlund broke Koivu's leg
, and Luc Bourdon (R.I.P)
scored his first NHL goal
, was a great game to be at.
Last game before that was Canada vs Russia WJC Gold Medal game in Vancouver, now that was probably the best game I've been to.
next up: I'll be at the final Canucks home game of the season as they take on the LA Kings, should be a good one, hope I can win myself a jersey.

Was at last nights London Knights-Erie Otters OHL game at the John Labatt Centre in London, Ontario.
Tavares scored the winner in overtime.
It was pink ribbon night (Breast Cancer awareness) and the Knigts wore pink uniforms, which are now on the londonknights.com website for auction. All you Tavares fans out there should check it out. Last chance you'll likely have to get a PINK GAME WORN TAVARES JERSEY!! Last I checked, the bid on his jersey was up to $3000 CAD!!!
I also have tickets for the 17th of March in Tampa Bay for the Leafs game (March break). It's my son's 16th birthday as well that day (yes, he is a St Patty's Day baby), so we're gonna have his name up on the scoreboard in the first intermission at the St Pete Times Forum!!

My last game I went to was, unfortunately, over a year ago. It was Florida @ Buffalo, the game on October 10th where Zednik got cut. It was definitely a scary moment, and I've never been at place with so many people where it was just dead silent. Ironically, this was the first date I went on with my current girlfriend. What a situation to be at during your first date. =p
I'm going to the game on Saturday, Boston @ Buffalo, I can't wait. Too bad the Sabres chances of slipping into the postseason are extremely unrealistic at this point. I'm just fortunate to get to a game this year, college makes it tough. I'm up here in Rochester at RIT, so I'm a good hour and 20 minutes from my home town of Buffalo. They have a lot of hockey up here though.

Was on vacation in Florida for March break. Went to the Leafs game in Tampa vs the Lightning. Probably 75% of the fans at the game were cheering for the Leafs. Helped with their comeback win I would guess. That was on the 17th of March. The next night, went to the ECHL game in Fort Meyers (Florida Everbaldes vs the Checkers). Not great hockey...won't be making any more efforts to see another ECHL game.
Regarding Tampa, I recommend Hat Tricks for your pre-game over Andreychuks. A little further away (other side of the freeway) but better food, service and atmosphere (unless you're able to get a seat on the deck/patio at Andreychuks...plan to arrive at least 3-4 hours before game time, though). Andreychuks does have a good selection of beer (from 3 bars scattered around the establishment), including imported Canadian. And it is, literally, right across the street from the St Pete Times Forum (and I mean a street...two lanes, with sidewalks...not a major thoroughfare.)
Not sure if this happens prior to all games, but outside the entrance to the arena prior to the game, but inside a gated area, there are bars serving beer and spirits, along with live entertainment. That, I thought, was a nice touch.May try and get down to Columbus for a playoff game if schedule and price/availablility of tickets allows.

2009 Western Conference Semi-finals, Game 7!!
Great Seats!!! I've been to my share of live games and these had to be the best seats I've ever had for watching a hockey game. I was right on the glass for Game 7 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals (the 7-0 spanking of the Avs). While it was cool being on the glass, you can't see a lot from there. These seats here were 16th row, right on the red line. Close enough to see everyting, but far enough away to see everything!!! Friggin' awesome!!!

How the night began.

Warm-ups

How the night ended... it's all over but the cryin'!

I live about 3 hours from Detroit so I only get to a couple or three games in the reg. season and a couple of playoff games if I can get tickets. Although, that total may be going up as I am told my mom may be getting season tickets for next year if she can get in the lower bowl.
This game was a 34th birthday present.
The camera is just an 8MP Kodak digital with a good lens. I would rather take my 35mm Nikon SLR, but they won't let it in the door (the zoom lens I have is too long).

I don't think I've been to a game since March when I went to see an EPIHL game; Invicta v Haringay. It was the last game of the season but Invicta had already won the league a long time ago. I can't remember the score, but they destroyed Haringay. Sadly not quite the same quality as what Hypno saw. I'm very very jealous!!
Stinson - do you live quite a way from Philly? I'm surprised that was your first NHL game.

Philadelphia Phantoms vs. Hershey Bears - 10 April 2009
Final regular season hockey game ever to be played at the Spectrum in Philly, the former home of the Stanley Cup winning Broad Street Bullies teams. I have many fond hockey memories from that building, and I am glad I was able to share some of those memories that night with my children.

For several years I lived in nothern Virginia in the United States. I had season tickets to the Washington Capitals and went to 20-25 games a season.
I saw Ovechkin and Semins first games.
Ovechkins was my design but Semins was completly by accident. I knew who he was but was not really aiming to see his first game. Just so happened I attended it.

I watched HIFK - Jokerit in Helsingin jäähalli yesterday. Although there was only a few goals the game itself was what I expected: True derby. At first HIFK dominated and keeped the puck in offensive zone. Only few times Jokerit could get into attack. Then in the middle of first period HIFK couldn't play so overwhelmingly and puck went from side to side. After all, first period ended 0 - 0. HIFK made first goal at the beginning of second period. The period itself was quite even, maybe HIFK were a little better. Then third period, HIFK got a penalty from controversial hit. Penalty was eleven seconds old when Jokerit scored an equalizer. Jokerit got some extra energy and four minutes later it was again in HIFK's net. HIFK woke up and Jokerit had to take two penalties and HIFK got two men powerplay for a few seconds. However Jokerit stayed up when I was sure that HIFK will punish. Then Lennart Petrell got two minutes for boarding. The homecrowd protested but I didn't see there anything clean. However Jokerit didn't score for powerplay and it was again 5 vs. 5. HIFK finally did an equalizer and five minutes later, 58:47 Jokerit got a 2 minutes penalty for holding the stick, so the game headed toward overtime and Jokerit had to start 4 vs. 3 in shorthanded. HIFK's powerplay was pathetic, especially the overtime period and it was back 4 on 4. Nobody scored and it was time for shootout.
Jokerit: goal
HIFK: no goal
Jokerit: no goal
HIFK: no goal (that was pathetic effort, I think even I could make a better effort)
Jokerit: no goal
HIFK: goal
Then it was sudden death, HIFK scored, Jokerit didn't. So close, so far away.

I saw the Fort Wayne Komets take on the Quad City Mallards last night at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, in Fort Wayne, Indiana and I was bored out of my mind.
Quad won 3-2 in a shootout, but the game was more of a snoozer than anything else. Very few good hits, the passing left a lot to be desired, and despite a combined 61 shots on goal, there were few quality scoring chances for either team. Now, we did have a couple fights (if you want to call them that) and Quad City ran Fort Wayne's goalie (and Fort Wayne did not return the favor), but it was slow and boring.

I've just come back from watching the Cardiff Devils take on the Edinburgh Capitals. It looked a bit touch and go in the first two periods. There were plenty of hits, and a fair bit of sloppy passing. Oh... There was a fight in the third period, which seemed to come out of no where. Cardiff won 5 - 2.
It was a better game to the one I saw on Wednesday, where Cardiff took on the Sheffield Steelers. After a good start to the game Cardiff seemed to slack a bit allowing Sheffield to bring it to within one. Cardiff won 3 - 2.

Islanders @ Thrashers
Dec 3rd 09
NYI 4 : 1 ATL
Tavares Vs. Kane
Probably the worst display of hockey that I have ever been to. Neither team seemed to really want to be playing that night. I was surprised when NY head coach said it was one of their best performance all year, sure 4 goals to 1 would indicate a good performance, but the game lacked energy from both teams.
Favorite past games experience.
Kozlov Shootout goal for Thrashers victory.
