Congrats!

I HATE THIS TEAM! Bunch of weenie streaky little puky forwards. With Ruutu injured for 3 months...wimps. And Stewart is good, but not good enough. I will never ever in any other game deal for Wolski, Hejduk, Stastny, Svatos, Hensuck, Quincey, Preissing, Clark......Bunch of 1 dimensional play for 2 games suck for 2 games goof offs. Blech,.

And yet...I am winning. I hate em hate em hate em. :-D

DId I mention I hate em?

I would definitely take Stastny and Quincey any time. The rest of them I could do without.

They are the best performers on the team. But I need mean. Neither brings that. Soft as freaking butter.

They work well with some "mean" around them though.

Soft as butter...put him with a tough guy or two okay. Quincey is just okay with a bad bunch of bums...I mean year 3 I have no NHL all stars for the all star game. I have never had less than 2 (including year 1) in any game I have played in any challenge. This team? BRUUUUUU TAL bunch of weenies

Ick, I feel a bit dirty after wrapping up season three with another cup and seeing Lecavlier at the top of all categories except PIMs. I wonder how I had done if I had kept O'Reilly instead.

Anyway it doesn't look like I'll have the time to get another season in and that's a shame really. Shattenkirk played 17 games for the Avs this season and scored 4G 7A -2 with an AvR of 7.58. It would be interesting to see what he can do in a full season.

We also lost Hejduk to free agency so a top six RW spot needs to be filled by someone. Depending on what's available in free agency I think my lines for season four would be:

Anderson
Weiman

Liles-Clark
Quincey-Shattenkirk
Hannan-Boynton
(Holos)

Wolski-Lecavalier-Svatos
Hensick-Stastny-Stewart
Picard-Duchene-Foy
Koci-Durno-Stoa

PP
Liles-Clark-Stastny-Lecavalier-Svatos
Quincey-Shattenkirk-Wolski-Duchene-Hensick

PK
Hannan-Boynton-Duchene-Foy
Quincey-Clark-Picard-Stastny

On the prospect front this draft was alot better than the last one for sure, probably because of all those european regens (top NA player was ranked at #31 I think). 6/7 draftees cracked the AGM's top 12 list.

Three of the 2007 picks are hopefully ready to make an impact in the AHL this season:
LD/RD Mark Pysyk played 63 games in the WHL last season and had 18G 32A +16 7.51AvR. He is a huge defensive defenseman and is expected to put up 5G 25A and 200PIM in the AHL this season. He was the second round pick.
C/LW Evgeny Kuznetsov played 71 games in the ECHL and scored 37G 45A +14 8.20AvR. He is a skilled offensive minded forward and is expected to pick up 90 points in the AHL this season. He was the first round pick.
RW/C Yasin Cisse played 50 games in the WCHA and scored 20G 23A +22 7.12AvR. He is a huge checking forward and is expected to put up 20G 20A 80PIM in the AHL this season. He was the third round pick.

Fifth rounder C/RW Fredric Weigel gets another season in the ECHL, he will be joined by fourth rounder RW/LW Luke Moffatt and sixth rounder RW/LW Patrik Näslund. So far seventh rounder LD Stephen Silas is the only clear bust of that draft.

And finally, the team report.

I finally finished the second season and got my stats posted. I'm going to start working on season 3 but I doubt I'll get it finished by the deadline. Still, it will be fun to play.

Season 3 done. Won cup again, but many of my stats are disappointing.

Awards: Not much, Anderson won Lester Pearson, Vezina, Save award. Wolski won Lady Byng. Stastny won Conn Smythe. Lots of minor injuries through the year, but managed to avoid anything super major other than Ruutu missing 3 months.

As for other leagues since I have done it for each year:

President's Trophy: Colorado, runner up: Detroit
Stanley Cup: Colorado, runner up: Tampa Bay
Calder Cup: Hamilton Bulldogs, runner up: Hartford Wolf Pack (lake erie dead last)
Kelly Cup: Rochester Americans, runner up: Bakersfield Condors
Memorial Cup: Sudbury Wolves, runner up: Val D'or Foreurs
WHL: Seattle Thunderbirds, runner up: Red Deer Rebels
OHl: Sudbury Wolves, runner up: Kitchener Rangers
Q: Val D'Or Foreurs runner up: Baie-Comeau Drakkar
World Cup: Canada over Sweden
World Championships: Russia, Czech, Sweden, USA (relegate: Great Britain, Kazhak...promote: Latvia and Italy)

World Jr Championships: Sweden, Canada, Russia, USA (relegate: Hungary, Norway promote: Slovakia, Ukraine)

Not going to get season 4 done, but will play by challenge rules for one more year.

Draft: At 30 overall I think I got Foppa regen, and at 60 I got Irbe. Interesting, never had either one.

I just wrapped up my first season in a challange. I got a late start and found Im kind of slow in playing so I wont be getting in a second one.I will continue to play this team for a while though. Its been interesting to say the least. After a good start it all kind of fell apart.Too many penalties, poor PK,PP and goaltending.Just couldnt get anything going.
At least I should get a good draft pick, and Detroit has been looking at Tucker, maybe I can get something useful for him like a bag of pucks.
Wait till next season ......

Just posted Season 3 stats, I hope I'm still on time. Won the Presidents' Trophy and the Lord Stanley, so it would be a shame to be late. :-D I'm having lots of work nowadays, and I've really found it hard to get down to EHM.

Back to work. :swamped: Talk to you later.

Yup, you got them in on time, Ciryatan.

I sure wasn't able to get in as many seasons as I would have liked in this challenge. Between work and the babies, I just didn't get the time to play much in the last month or two.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this challenge. I found this one to be pretty interesting. It was a different kind of team than I am used to. I hope you all enjoyed it too. Hopefully we'll have some info soon on our next challenge.

Blech. It was a horrible team. Blech. But I still enjoyed making them play my mean nasty defensive style. I was surprised I did not have guys (Svatos, Hejduk, Wolski, And a few others) who have no idea where the defensive zone is...ask for trades.

Yeah, it was definitely a horrible team and totally not my style but that's what made it an interesting challenge.

Oh yeah no question it made it interesting. I mean I was winning constantly but still getting frustrated all to heck and back. That was definitely interesting to me, and really more of a "challenge" than any other challenge I have played in.

Next one: WHL pleeeeassseeee....

We had planned to run a challenge with the OHL as our next one but due to some unavoidable database issues, we won't be able to do that. Unfortunately, a junior hockey challenge is getting pushed back again.

I was just about to post here and ask that question. Too bad, should be interesting when a junior challenge is held (many more variables, in my opinion.) and can be a big success if people don't take advantage of certain things. I have yet to participate in one of the challenges, though I am looking forward to the next one. Lastly, thank you to all the people that run these challenges as I hope to partake in the next one.

Darn.

Forgot the challenge was ending (lost track of things for a bit there) and I had about 5 or 6 periods I never posted. Oh well.

We will be doing an junior challenge as soon as possible. It's definitely something we want to do again. There were just a couple issues that came up that delayed it. We're planning on making Challenge #17 a Canadian Junior challenge.

Not that I'd like an OHL challenge but what unavoidable db issues are there? Is it discussed here somewhere? I didn't notice it.

Nope. It's nothing that was discussed here. There was some work being done on the OHL for the next version of the database but there were some problems.
