Once again, STUPID STAFF! I would fire them all if I could right now.

The only loss for me though is the lack of one coach's stats in the training, it could have been worse.

Ok so starting season 2. Horcoff, Brule, and O'Sullivan are all out for a week into the season. Oh yay! And I lost Stortini for 3 months.

Lineup for game 1 looks like this:

Comrie-Gagner-Penner
Moreau-Stoll-Hemsky
Cogliano-Stone-Mikhnov
Strudwick-Pouliot-Pisani

Souray-Visnovsky
Grebeshkov-Gilbert
Smid-Staios

JDD
Dubnyk

I am starting Galimov and Roy on the farm this season. See what happens, both will likely get games with me. Bjurling has been sent off on loan. AT 31 years old, not likely to be resigned. But we shall see. Should be an interesting start without my stud

I just got a mini injury plague. I had Stone out for 10 days and when he was a few days away from coming back I lost Penner, Stortini, and Gilbert for 10 days each over the course of 2 games. Surprisingly, I'm doing okay without them. I got lucky. Toskala seems to be on his game for a change and the team is putting up goals.

I haven't had any time throughout the week to play EHM, and so I'm still in July and roaming the market. There doesn't seem to be much available. I've had a look at the trades you posted, and NONE of them can be done in my game. The best one I've worked out so far is Gagner and Staios to Philadelphia for Carter and Lehtivuori, but as with the Varlamov-Alzner trade, I'm just not convinced it's the best I could get. :dunno:

Got HOrcoff Brule and O'Sullivan back. Lost Penner. Penner had 6 goals and 11 points in my first 5 games.

For the 8th time this season (68 games in) I had my Referee Complaint approved. My team started to turn things around but got slowed down by bad reffing and injuries. I think widdling half my team off was a good thing! :dunno:

anyone else sucessfully develop Ganger? I've never been able to get him to develop, in my third season, his attributes haven't moved at all.

A few days before the start of season two, with Nilsson and Pisani on IR and Jaques suspended, my lines look like this:

Lehtonen
Deslauriers

Souray-Visnovsky
Grebeshkov-Gilbert
Smid-Staios

Penner-Horcoff-Hemsky
Moreau-Gagner-O'Sullivan
Cogliano-Stone-Mikhnov
Strudwick-O'Marra-Stortini

Inspired by Slovakia's success (or Sweden's failure) in the Olympics I've tried to set up some counter-attacking tactics along with a new approach to personal tactics and results looked promising in the pre-season. The PP really hasn't been clicking though which is worrying.

Still no sign of my darn laptop so all I'm able to play is a few games here and there at work. I'll see if I can get around to installing Excel and getting my terrible stats for season one posted sometime today, if I keep waiting for my laptop to post them chances are the challenge will be over before I get it done...

How did you develop him, I've played a few games with the oilers, but have never gotten him to develop.

gagner seson 9
first years

I had him down in AHL where he played very well for 2 years. I had him on 3 scheds on INT and the other 4 on medium. When he was tired i rested him. He only played PP and even strenght to keep him healthy. Computer did the rest but he was 16-17s when i traded him for Toews. He rocks in my game and always seem to perform well in reg sesons and playoffs and scores a bunch on my oilers when i meet Black hawks. I always keep good prospects in EHCL AND AHL for at least 2 years and sometimes 3 years to devolp em max. They get nursed alot with good linemates and microing of training intensity and different schedules.

Fixed the link that didn't work.

I believe that's something that changes with the language options. I think the North American English calls it "Getting Open" while UK English calls it "Off the Puck". You see the same thing a bit with staff. In NA you'll have "trainers" while in the UK you'll have "physios".

Once again I get to face Canucks in the first round of the PO's. They have totally crushed me in the regular season and defeated me last years PO's 4 - 0 games. My hope's as low as it can be...

The nucks are way overpowered in Lidas' rosters, they always make it into at least the Conference finals for the first 3-4 years of my games unless someone steals Luongo from them.

In my games lately Luongo always leaves the Canucks as a UFA after the first season.

I'm almost done with my 3rd segment of the 2nd season. Even though Toskala has gotten more starts this season, I find myself looking to JDD more and more.

I managed to get Gustaffassun with my first trade, and he was been doing very well for me. I play a run and gun style so his GAA is 3.5ish, but we won 50 games this season, and are off the the Cup Final. He has a AVR of 8.5+ so he's my Grant Fuhr.

Through 60 games so far in season 2...

Toskala 40GP 23W 10L 7T 3.47GAA .882SV% 7.67AvR
Deslauriers 21GP 13W 5L 2T 3.36GAA .893SV% 7.95AvR

So JDD has better stats but played in half as many games. He's also making less than half what Toskala does. I'm thinking I may have wasted my UFA signing on Toskala. I could have kept JDD as my stater and used Bjurling (doing well in the AHL currently) as my backup.

Roy is looking good in my game. He's still with Cape Breton right now. So far...

Roy 43GP 27W 15L 1T 2.00GAA .924SV% 8.49AvR

I've got another good G prospect in the system too. I picked Johan Gustafsson in the 6th round of the 2007 draft. The scouts project him as a backup like Niemi but he's doing pretty well so far. With Farjestad J18 he's got these stats...

17GP 14W 1L 2T 1.33GAA .954SV% and 8.88AvR. He's also got 6 shutouts.

I don't know why it doesn't show up in his stats but he's also played in many games for Sweden on a team with Paajarvi-Svensson and Lander. Why don't those show under stats?

I hope your prospect turns out better than my Cody St. Jacques, maybe my worst pick in the draft

Puuuhhhhh, I just lost the first playoff round in the 3rd season... thats embarassing....
Finished the conference 5th but counting only the points (104) I am 5th in the whole league.... so I faced the Flames and additionaly was having some heavy injuries: Pääjärvi + Penner out for 3 months and some smaller injuries, I was chanceless the first 2 games but won the 2 at home by 3-2 (one in OT), then lost again in Calgary getting destroyed by a 1-6 loss...

Trailing in the series with 2-3 I had some hope cause Pääjärvi returned and what did he do!? He scored a hatrick and we won 4-2, although we fought in the last game of the series we lost

M. A. Fleury played really bad (under 0.900 in the playoffs and has only 0.907 SV% during the season, well it's ok but not extraordinary..)
Well, I traded Visnovsky for Stastny at the beginning of the season and I terribly missed him in the playoffs, although Stastny won the Art Ross trophy I wasn't able to fill the hole that Visnovsky left in my defense (Fowler was not ready yet, Gilbert is not a real 1st line D-men and Montador, aquired from waivers didn't give my poor defense more stabily....

Well, we could still win the Calder Cup for the first time, after losing twice in the finals, at least ONE lil cup :-D

Ready to start season 3.
In summer I managed to boost m defence.. again. From free agency i got Hannan to keep Visnovsky under control.
Also traded Pisani & Nilsson for Havlat. I'm really excited about upcoming season.

Lines are:
O'Sullivan-Stone-Hemsky
Moreau-Penner-Havlat
Cogliano-Pouliot-Gagner
Smid-Yelle-swapping between Nash,Brule,Hartikainen and Pääjärvi

Hannan-Visnovsky
Souray-B.Jackman
Grebeshkov-Gilbert
Conklin-JDD

This year I changed bit my playing style. Now I doesn't have good checking line so I'll try to go with 3 scoring lines and 1 forechecking line. But as usual after first 10 games I press panic button. :-p
I rely on my dmens and suberb goalies like last year..

This is always so funny
