NHL or Lower leagues?

Post by matt44 »

Whilst I like playing as a lower rated NHL team, it is just as much, if not more, of a challenge to play as a ECHL/CHL team that has no affilliations to AHL/NHL teams.

Anyone else find this?

I haven't seriously played an NHL save since about early EHM 2005... for this very reason.

In fact, I don't think I've even gone above the OHL since that time.

I've searched around bit, but I'm still wondering.

When trying to get NHL/AHL-players out on loan to other North-American teams, they sometimes refuse. I guess it's because they find it to be too low rated. Unfortunately, I don't really now how the different leagues are rated. When clicking the loan-button, I just see a list of teams in leagues that mean nothing to me. :P

Can someone please post a rough estimate of the reputation of the different leagues? Obviously, NHL is top rated, and I guess the AHL next. But where does the CHL fit in? And the "All-American 4", the different Canadian jr-leagues?

I'd be very appreciative of any enlightenment. :)

If it can help you a bit I think CHL is behind the ECHL. I'm not sure though. The "All-American 4" should be a league like the CHL maybe since we can draft from that league. The WHL, OHL and QJMHL are all the same level. They're just from different part of Canada.....well are the same level but in term of competition QJMHL is weaker that the other two.
