LOL--Just nice to see Boston lose. How is Mr. Thornton feeling today? Guess he needs someone to protect him when Boston plays Buffalo. :-D

I had to choose between watching BUF-BOS and NJD-NYI yesterday, went with the Devils and Islanders, and I'm not disappointed either (but it's a shame I missed Boston getting pummeled at home :-D). The Islanders are playing really well this year, though they still concede an awful lot of goals at even strength. Their special teams though are great to watch.

Isles are a fun young team to watch. Not as fun as watching the Oilers....but fun all the same. Tonight should be interesting. Luongo and the Nucks vs the evil goon Duncan Keith.

Burrows pulling hair tonight? Daniella and Henrietta going for 10.0 for artistic merit? Bollig pummeling Peppermint Patty? Kassian getting schooled be Seabrook? Luongo and Crawford? Or should CHicago start Emery and have him kick the daylights out of Greasy I never lose my job Bob?
Which Canucks will run all over the ice acting stupid to try and hit the most elusive guy since Gretzky. It is impossible to get a good hit on Keith. He is so slimy and shifty.

Greg Jamison is such a joke. He's just trolling everyone in Phoenix right now.

Re: Isles. It's fun to watch the waiver guys – Strait, Aucoin – playing so well. Aucoin especially, he's such a live-wire, 4 goals already. And the announcers getting their tongues in a twist on the Streit – Strait pairing, MacDonald and McDonald... when Radek plays they'll also have Martin and Martínek on the roster. :-D

You didn't miss much, the game was really awful hockey. It was like 3 on 3 OT, odd man rushes all the time. On the other hand as a Nucks fan you'd probably enjoy Chara and Boychuk running around like headless chickens for 60 minutes :D
Thornton suffered a concussion, so lets see how that works out, he surely got the ass-kicking of his career last night.

Nah, I was joking. I like some teams more than others, but there really isn't a team I dislike.

Thornton's concussion's from the Scott fight? I had a look on youtube and it was nasty for Shawn. Hope he gets well soon.

Heh yeah it's from that fight obviously, I'm not a fan of Scott, or any other of those 3 minutes guys whose only purpose is to fight, but I have to say he handled it pretty classy afterwards and seems a decent dude.

Scott plays at most 5 minutes in a game. If noone fights him in that 5 minutes..the next game he will play less. And less and less...until he is gone. He is useless as a player, and has no business being on the ice. But he is because brainiacs like Thornton decide it is a good idea to fight him...and then they get kicked and wonder why. Jut do not fight the guy and he goes away.

Philou--Why is Jamison trolling Phoenix? Because he did not come up with the $$? Is it his problem that the NHL is so darn stupid that for about the 5th time they have been fooled by some clown who really has no money and lets them have a go at the team?

I mean Nashville with Boots, the 10 guys in Phoenix. When (I forget which team) another team was for sale a Nigerian scam woman was the 2nd runner up to buying the team (I want to say Pittsburgh, but I cannot recall for sure). They turn down over and over a guy with the cash and allow these idiots in.

I heard something tonight:

"...I love our refs, they're the best in the world..."
~ Bill Clement, analyzing the Philadelphia v Washington first period.

:chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

EDIT: By the way, I should point out that that wasn't Bill being witty or sarcastic. He said that with 100% honesty as a disclaimer to his criticism of the refs in the first period.

LOL. Not the reason the Flyers lost though. Man they are hurting...to lose to Washington they are hurting even more than I thought, and I Thought they were in a coma.

I'm more talking about the fans (if there's still some :-p ). Seems like the mayor of Phoenix is beginning to be tired of this too.

Well, everone is tired of the Phoenix saga! :-D

The Coyotes were a nice gamble, I have to say. It was not doomed from start and really could have gone both ways. For the 'Yotes' first 3 seasons, the arena was on average 90% full, which isn't bad at all for a team planted in a market that had never been hockey-crazy. But then, attendance declined, recovered, declined, nosedove... http://www.hockeydb.com/nhl-attendance/ ... p?tmi=7450 Their string of crappiness in the early 2000's killed 'em. I don't know if the smaller crowds were the main reason behind the financial problems and bankruptcy of 2009, but they sure didn't help. And the perpetual uncertainty of the team's future definitely does not either. But the more the NHL tries to pretend its league is stable by keeping this franchise where it is, the longer the uncertainty will last and the fewer fans the club is gonna attract. As a matter of fact: http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/news ... st-in.html.

The move to Glendale killed attendance. Building should have been in Phoenix. Which killed interest. Which caused finance problems. Which caused owner problems and no one with real $$$ and interstate business sense will operate a team in Glendale.

Haha. I had the same reaction Stinson. The Quebec Remparts have almost the double of that each game.

Pacioretti is back on the ice this afternoon only one week after an appendectomy. He was supposed to be out for 3-4 weeks. That guy is inhuman or what. :-D

He's amazing indeed... and he even got an assist so far. What a beast.

His recovering capacities are so high that I kinda wonder if he won't grow back a brand new appendix to replace the removed one :-D

The move to Glendale really did kill the team there. My cousin lives in AZ and used to be a season ticket holder. Once they moved to Glendale, it became too much trouble to get to the arena and it wasn't worth the time anymore. He said that was how it was for a lot of people.

Yep. About 10000 people plus those who would have got into it. Dumbest thing ever was that move.

The Islanders acquired Tim Thomas so that they would get over the cap floor.
Boston got a conditional 2nd rounder.

And have the Blue Jackets failed with Ryan Johansen, or what? Talk about being rushed too soon. I hope he bounces back sometime, somewhere else

Wasn't expecting Thomas to be traded somewhere, that's weird haha And what about Johansen?!? Didn't see anything on the net about him. :-?

They sent him to the AHL. That is all.
They should have kept him in junior longer than he was
