First game in 11 without a point for the Habs. I don't think anyone would've thought they would've a sequence like that this year. It seems the Isles are their nemesis so far. The other team with the best point streak so far look like it's about to continu, the Hawks lead 4-1 after the first period against the Wild.

Harmlik was claimed off waivers by the Rags.

Staal must be dead. BEcause the Rags just claimed an ALMOST dead guy.

Hahaha yeah! That's a weird choice indeed. I know the Rags got alot of defencemen injured back a week or two ago but everything is looking ok since. Del Zotto, McDonagh came back and I can't remember who was the other one.

Staal will have a full recovery the doc said. He's just out for who knows how long. I hope he's gonna wear a visor after this.

That's just sad.

The other player should be banned for a long time for that.

It really sucks...

Getzlaf gets 8.25 per for the next 8 years. Good to know the owners have their heads on straight. I hope in a few years that the Ducks enjoy the debacle of trying to unload that contract.

And some people think Luongo's contract is bad....... sheesh

Luongo's contract is worse than that. Wait til he retires after not having played in Vancouver for 4 years and it comes back to haunt the Nucks. At least Getz contract expires at a normal age.

At 39-40 Luongo will retire with a lower body injury that will prevent him from playing and eliminate the cap hit.

That was batdad's point though, under the current CBA the Nucks will keep his hit if he retires and the contract isn't expired. The only way to get rid of it is to trade him and hope he doesn't retire until the contract's done.
Unless I misunderstood and the deal actually does expire when he's 39.

I think it runs till he's 42.... who knows, maybe he'll go Brodeur on us and play it out at a reasonable level. My comment was more based on stuff I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere about injury such as Pronger or Malhotra for example. By putting Manny on IR i believe he doesn't count against the cap. Of course a player on IR would take up one of the 50 contract spots but I wouldn't bet against some team trying to pull it off..... hell, might be the Rangers or who knows by then?

Playing with Crosby will do that for you.

Yeah..but he is a pretty darn good player in his own right. He might even score 25-30 playing for your Laffs.

I don't doubt that he's a good player. Just saying that playing on Crosby's line will inflate your numbers.
