I think he is getting Wally Pipped. This kid is playing some outstanding hockey. Lehner to be dealt for what he is worth....a 9th round pick. Oh wait....

Vermette to Chicago for a first and a kid named Dahlbeck. I don't know if that kid has potential but it's high for Vermette. Even the first rounder alone is high IMO.

Dahlbeck is a young D that is NHL ready, he is a good prospect... Don't think his ceiling is super high but he is a bottom pairing D right now and still has some room to grow.

Yandle to Rangers seems like a done deal... waiting to see whats going the other way but guessing its atleast John Moore, Duclair, 2016 1st....

Yeah seen it too. I thought all the rumors about Yandle would just fade away. Nice addition to NY but they certainly paid the price.

I'm not sure what to think of this... in the short term its a great deal, we have a silly D now with 4 guys that would walk into most top pairings in the league along with Boyle and Klein who are legit #4 guys, add to that an offense that scores 3rd in the league last i checked.... with Hank healthy we would be clear favorites in the east for the playoffs _ON PAPER_... Cup window isnt open for too long (Hank and Nash is in their prime now, not in 5 years)...
On the other hand we havent drafted in the first round for 4 years after 2016 and we also sent away our best forward prospect so future is clearly sacked here...
edit: Yandles salary is 50% retained by Yotes aswell..
Where do you land on this one Manimal?

Thinking the same as you. Yandle will help the PP but he is a turnover machine.
I do not like them trading 1st round picks. However, I think Buchnevich will be a better player than Duclair
If the Rangers wins the cup then it's a good deal, otherwise not

The only thing I'm wondering is how the prospects pool of the Rags will look like in a couple of years. They got rid of a couple of first rounder lately and they give up Duclair as well. That doesn't mean they can't draft well though but sending your first round here and there surely doesn't help.

On paper thats a worry, but the fact is that we have drafted really well in the later rounds last few years, 2013 we got Duke, Buchnevich, Tambellini and Graves in 3rd and 4th round... Ultimately Rangers have some good prospects now, we dont have big depth in prospects though but that might not matter since we have lots of young players in NHL right now (Hayes, JTM, Fast, Hagelin), especially on the wings... on D we have Skjei, Graves and McIlrath (who is finally looking NHL-ready)... So while our prospectpool isnt great its not depleted either...

Feels like they overpayed alot for a bum like Cole, i know hes having kind of a bounce back year, but i still feel like he's a bum... 2nd + 2 decent prospects... ouchie...

Bruins got Brett Connolly from the Lightning for two 2nd round picks. He has become quite what was expected out of him as a first round pick but he's only 22. Maybe the chance of scenery will help?

Good deal from Tampa, but right before they traded a 1st, 3rd and Gudas for Coburn, which was not a good deal for Tampa

Habs got Petry for a second and a fifth. Can't say much about that trade except that they didn't trade you players for him. I thought his trade value would be bigger than this. That will give a break to Weaver and Gonchar. Won't be surprised if Weaver is traded today. I just hope that they will keep getting Beaulieu alot of ice time, the kid has been pretty good lately.
Michalek to St. Louis. Don't know the rest of the deal yet.
And for Tampa, holy molly, the paid way too much for a guy like Coburn!

Maxim Letunov looks to be part of the Michalek deal, 2nd rounder from last year who is playing in USHL and will be playing in College next year...

Whiny rant ahead!
Seriously What the Dickens Red Wings? As I just said to my friend, apparentley the wheel in the logo is supposed to be a wheel chair!
Over the last few years the only players they have brought in are old rentals, Alfredsson, Legwand, now Cole and Zidlickey!
They do know players under 34 exist right? The players are cheap but all these patches adds up, they could have just gotten a long term option by now

They probably don't want a long term deal since Mantha and Ouellet got chances to be regulars next year. That's the only thing I can think of.
Also, Buffalo traded Neuvirth to the Isles. Now they really don't have any goalies left.

Its def just playoff depth and rentals, what I was saying to my friend though is if they pooled all the assets they have spent on old rental players they could have just traded for good young player by now which is the frustrating part.
BTW I'm widdled at Neuvirth trade!!! Our fantasy league counts saves so he was a stud for me

MTL traded for Mitchell and Flynn from Buffalo. That's alot of people for the third/fourth line. I wonder if Bergevin is actually trying to trade someone from the third or fourth line in MTL. Wouldn't be surprised if it's Eller but with his salary, not sure.

A pretty dumb thing to do.
I liked how Koivu reacted.. by not doing anything.
