I just saw a picture on Facebook, posted by the Bruins, that has him being interviewed after practice today and he didn't look fat. He was sitting down, so it would be hard to really tell but his face didn't look fat at least.

Leafs have sent Reilly back to Moose Jaw and Frattin has been sent to the Marlies. Gardiner being placed on IR Kostka, Fraser, Holzer and Kadri make the team.

I'm not sure though about letting Galchenyuk with the team. Losing one year of his rookie contract on half a season sucks IMO but he's still too strong for the OHL but can't play in the AHL.
He can play five games and then be sent down and still keep the year on his contract. For this shortened season the limit is six

Loosie--NO it does not. he just signed a deal for this season now. That is a silly arse number. He is getting $800K plus possible bonuses (boni---I love that non-word)

Philou--Why would I be happy? Because Hitch now has a crackhead on his blueline? Wonder what his teeth look like. Everyone seems to forget...part of the reason for Redden's big fall from grace....he had (has???) a bit of a bad habit or two. That being said....good on the guy for getting another chance. And I hope over the last few years of playing scrub hockey he has matured.

That was more sarcasm than been really happy about it. It will be interesting to see where Gomez is going to sign...or not.

Yes, but he still gets the 5.5 from the Rangers due to the buy out...St. Louis is only paying him 800 + bonuses.

I laugh that both contracts that were bought out were made by the Rangers. Such a sign of how sometimes Sather is WAY off in his contracts .

I have to admit, I'm looking forward to this NHL season more than I have in many years.

I was never an Oilers fan growing up (hated them!), but after living in Edmonton for 20 years and enjoying the feel in the city back in 2006, I'd like to see the Oilers do well (in my youth I would never had imagined I 'd say that...in the 80s when i was passionate about hockey "my Flyers" lost in the Final twice to the hated Oilers).

I'm looking forward to seeing what the young Oiler forwards can do, hoping something special develops...

I know this much...THE OIL? Gonna smoke the Canucks tomorrow night. Wow do they look bad tonight vs Anaheim.

Also...hockey today....bad hockey. All the way around. Just blech. Except for Tampa Bay...they were flying (And the Blues I guess)

Bruins looked surprisingly sharp, except for Marchand and Seguin. Man Nash is strong on the puck. Didn't have a good game by any means, but his puck protection is amazing.

Yeah the Bruins seemed very promising indeed, given the long break. I can't say I noticed Marchand and Seguin at all during the game. Rangers looked rusty - particularly in the first half. That is except for Lundqvist.

I watched Flyers vs Pens last night, I expected more from Crosby, who did not play as good as everyone expects him to, but who can blame him after having those concussions last season and now playing his first match since last season's playoffs.

I watched Ottawa - Winnipeg and Montreal - Toronto yesterday. Ottawa's gonna do fine, but the other three are already mostly out of the playoffs (Toronto might give a fight this year, though. There's a couple good kids there). Montreal especially... I was watching the players' presentation and it struck me how empty that team is. Same bunch of guys as last year, with a few substractions and pretty minor additions. Alex Galchenyuk is promising, but he won't make miracles alone. The team was otherwise unimpressive. The Habs fans are not done booing them...

My take for the season (for what it's worth, an in no particular order):
Ottawa, NY Rangers, Philly, Pittsburgh, Boston, Florida, Washington, Buffalo and Tampa are through in the East;
Chicago, St. Louis, Edmonton, Minnesota, San José, LA and Vancouver are in the playoffs in the West. Last spot either goes to Dallas, Nashville or Detroit. Hopefully Nashville.

I have my doubts on Boston beating the Rags. Both Vcr and Calgary suck but Vcr is still better even when they suck. Phoenix can beat the Jackets I think.

Sticking to my thoughts. On this day....those teams I listed will win. Rangers are due. Canucks suck completely and totally and will prove it again tonight. Dale Wiese is on the second line. LOL. With Schroeder (another tiny centre) and Raymond (LOL). That says enough in itself.
CBJ...will win tonight. Bob is going to be outstanding just have a feeling.
