Hitting attribute

Post by conq »

Hey

Just wondering how much does hitting attribute effect a player's defensive ability. The reason why I'm asking this is 'cause in the scouting reports. I've noticed that whenever a player has 18+ hitting, scouts(NHL) usually rate his defense as A+ most of the time. Even if pokecheck/checking/positioning skills are average (around 12), it's still in the A's.
So is a player with 20 hitting and 13s in PC/Positioning/Checking really better in playing D than one with 10 hitting and 18+ in PC/Positioning/Checking?

I know anticipation and the other mentals/physicals affect defense as well, but I'm talking about the technicals here only.

Unfortunately, size is more important than the hitting attribute
