Coach handles practice/tactics?

Post by chessarmy »

Hello,

when I play EHM 07 I prefer to strictly take care of GM duties. I usually set the coach to take care of tactics and practice for me, but I still handle lines because I think AI coaches suck at putting together good line combos. So, my question is, have any of you had any success letting the AI take care of tactics and practice? Does it limit the team severely to play this way?

If your team is good enough it probably doesn't matter. However if you are with a bad team or trying to make them better you will probably want to do it yourself.

I recently (a year ago) started doing all the coaching stuff as well. So I fired the head coach, and assumed all the responsibilities of the coach as well as GM.

I can tell you it's been a lot of fun, even though watching every game takes a long time. It really presents new challenges in the game and creates a struggle between long and short term needs (my coaching self wants to win now, but my GM self wants to build for the future).

I will comment again to add that as was mentioned above me it makes the game A LOT more fun to take over it yourself. Otherwise it just feels like a click fest to me which is why I like doing the challenges so much.

Were you 0-25 in your last 3 games on the PP? Then rubbish son you better change something and learn how to adjust. Those are the things that make you think about more. Uh oh your facing Crosby, how do you shut that top line down?

Also lines are usually chosen based on CA which by no means dictates someone's success.

By running practices you can also target a player's weak spot and help improve them. Travis Moen not fast enough for you? He can improve with practice.
