Update version 15.14.xx issues
I have tried to add the 98-99 and 79-80 databases to EHM; EA, to try and play some vintage hockey!
However, whenever I go to import them into EHM:EA, a bunch of errors pop up (seem like formating errors, for example "can't add extinct club") and it's unable to import.
Here's what I Do;
1. Downloads database
2. Extract to EHM: EA database folder
3. Download any add-ons and place in pictures folder (or where ever it belongs)
4. Start up EHM
5. Import database
Then failure.
What's up?

Re: What am I doing wrong?
I don't see "import_config.cfg file" in your steps, and that's step 1 according to the wiki page http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... nto_EHM:EA
I've been so focused on DB editing since EHM:EA came out I haven't and a chance myself to look at what it means to create an "import_config file"
I think Archi had created the needed file for the 1974 DB so it could be played with EHM:EA when EHM:EA first came out, and I thought I read it had worked.....but some of the fixes/improvements connect to the DB and require a reimport of the DB, and that's why since the 2nd EHM:EA Update the TBL rosters are only available in EHM07 format (and then users reimport the DB into EHM:EA and the changes take effect)...do you see an import_config file in your DB files?
For the 1998 DB I think I've seen posts indicating others couldn't get it to work either, and I suspect it somehow connects to the "import_config file"

Re: Unable to import EHM 2007 database into EHM:EA
The import_config.cfg is essential for a retro database or in fact any modified database that does not follow the exact team and league structures in the TBL v7.x (or newer) rosters.
If an import_config.cfg file is not present then the game will default to the 2014/15 league structures. In doing so, it expects certain teams to be in certain leagues in the EHM 2007 database. If they're not then the game cannot successfully import the database. Hence the structures in the database must be exactly the same as in TBL v7.x (by this I mean that, for example, the Anaheim Ducks and Winnipeg Jets must be in the NHL (although you can rename the teams to whatever your like)). For this reason, all other databases should be imported using the 2006/07 structures - so you must add an import_config.cfg file to the same folder as the database you wish to import.
Here is the import_config.cfg file I used for successfully importing Nino's 1974/75 DB into EHM:EA:
Hopefully if you use the above template and change the start year accordingly then it should import ok. I say "hopefully" because I believe there may still be some issues with the importing function which might still result in errors. As Nino said, more details on import_config.cfg can be found here: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/wiki/inde ... config.cfg
You can create the import_config.cfg file using any text editor such as Notepad (just change the file extension from .txt to .cfg after you have finished editing). Incidentally, I have associated all .cfg files with Notepad so that if I double-click on any such file, it automatically opens up in Notepad.

Code: Select all
"START_YEAR" 1974
"DEFAULT_RULE_SET" 2006

Re: Unable to import EHM 2007 database into EHM:EA
Hello everyone, I'm having trouble importing update roster 2009-10 (lidas v2.2 and 2.3), 2010-11 (lidas3.1) and 2011-12 (manimal 4.1b). Everytime, the problem is related to the numbers of teams in the AHL, saying that it must be 27 and the sytem find 31 or 32 teams. The thing is I'm looking in the pre game editor and when I check the AHL, there is 27 teams listed so, I'm kind of stuck. Any ideas?
Many thanks.
Many thanks.

Having trouble importing database. Downloaded the new 7.3 vanilla update, started the game, clicked to import database and it starts importing but then the game crashes. There was no problem the first time I imported a database.

Re: Unable to import EHM 2007 database into EHM:EA
Try re-downloading the DB and put into an empty folder in your database folder. And it goes without saying not to modify any of the files to start with - just so it narrows down any possibility for things going wrong.
Presumably you have installed the latest EHM patch via Steam's update?

Re: Unable to import EHM 2007 database into EHM:EA
I don't know if I really understood what you meant, but using that empty folder didn't work. The game didn't even find the database after that. And trying only with the re-downloaded database didn't work either, the game still crashes. And the game is updated also.

Re: Unable to import EHM 2007 database into EHM:EA
It seems to me that you're making a mistake when you're installing the rosters as this is the first report of a repeated crash using the v7.x Rosters. All I can suggest is trying this tutorial: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/vi ... 77&t=13611

Re: Unable to import EHM 2007 database into EHM:EA
I've watched that tutorial before and as I said everything went well the first time I imported v7.x rosters. And I followed that same tutorial now too but now there seems to be a problem. And I can promise you I didn't make a mistake.

Yes the default rosters are available. The TBL Rosters are completely VOLUNTEER based, and there are few volunteers to do the work. ALOT of work. The POINT is to advance the game and have it prepared to go. I believe archi has said the TBL rosters will be ready near the end of October. And I am sure they could use more help researching dear person upset that there is work being done on EHM by Riz and SI.

I didn't lose my save game, but I lost some player pictures, such as Despres (Ana) Voracek (Phi) Sekac (Ana) which I had before. Anyone know how to get them back?

Not until the end of October? Yuck that's disappointing, but i understand that updating the rosters is a lot of work so i'll happily wait.batdad wrote:Yes the default rosters are available.
