Changing Computers

Post by smitbr72 »

Hi all,

I've been playing the EHM 2007 game for a long time, and my computer is finally dying. I'd like to switch the game to my new computer, but even though I've copied everything (I think) over to my new computer, it won't launch the application. I've studied everything and it all appears to be exactly the same as my old computer, but the game just won't launch. When I click on the application I get the spinning circle (like it's trying to launch) but it never does. I know it can be done because I did the same thing to move from a computer running Windows XP once and everything worked perfectly.

The only difference in operating systems is the old computer is Windows 7 Home and the new computer is Windows 7 Professional.

Please help! I would hate to lose my game!

Thanks so much!!

Honestly, you should just get EHM:EA. It's cheap and will run without issue on the newer versions of windows.

Try disabling any antivirus scanner you have installed. Some scanners are know to cause problems (AVG in particular).

Also try running in Compatibility Mode and with Administrator rights.

For whatever reason, video card drivers are known to cause issues. Might be worth installing the latest drivers available if you don't already.

Your advice really helped, and I'm one step closer!

Apparently my license isn't valid anymore. How do I purchase another license for the 2007 version? Also, if I just purchase a license for the new 2015 version, will it work with the 2007 version?

Thanks!

EHM 07 is no longer on sale, so your only hope is to fill in the e-license Support Form and explain your situation, and they might reset your licenses, so that you'll get yours back. And no, EHM EA is a separate game and purchasing that won't get you back your EHM 07. Although it will get you a better game! :-)

And that's a big advantage with EHM:EA: Steam is very well supported when it comes to installing/uninstalling the game and licences.

I've never tried it but can you import an EHM2007 saved game into EHM:EA?

These guys /\ who make the rosters do an excellent job at it. You really can't tell the difference between "Modders" and real staff.. Buy the new game if you're having issues.
