My logos

Post by gbasalmon »

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone had any preference on which logos I worked on this year first. It appears that I may have to wait for the first unfaking DB to completely do what I do, but I am more than willing to preliminarily whip up all of the logos that I did last year. I guess I'll throw together a poll as to what everyone wants me to work on first if for no other reason than I want to make a poll.

I just have a few questions before I start, though.
  • What are the default dimensions for all logo sizes this year? They seem to be all slightly different for the large size, but that may just be so they fit into the new overall skin. The small logos look to be the same size as last year and I don't remember about the medium.
  • Does anyone have an ETA on the editor? If I have to rename logos myself when it comes out, I'll do it, but I'd like to save myself the trouble if at all possible.
I hope I can live up to what I was actually able to put out last year. All it takes is Photoshop Elements, the wonders of the internet, and a steady mouse hand...

Good to see ya back amigo :hombre: didja check out my post with all the new posibilities/sizes for logos? You were one of the first guys I thought of when I saw those in testing; I was thinking you could really rock this. I'd love to see ya give the titlepanel background images a shot, I think it's an awesome open canvas for some serious badassery in the right hands but I haven't had a chance to test it out yet really.

Arch got the Major Juniors 'small' logos redone but the lower/other leagues would be great. If you are interested in doing the 'frosted' look whihc I think works very well for the 'small' logos what that is is actually just a light blue rectangle as a background (approx the color of the lighter portions of the forum here) set to be like 70% transparent. It seems to pull the images together into a standard size which helps them look like they were meant that way not just cut off pieces of logos. But you always do great stuff so... trust your muse 8-)

I voted UHL, since we have 75% of it in the game already, and we might as well finish it off. After that, I'd say US and Canadian College. Then Canadian Junior. Then after that: whatever you feel like doing. ;)

gbasalmon: There's four different logo sizes in EHM 2007:

Huge: Max height is 120px
Large: Max height is 70px
Medium: Max height is 45px
Small: Dimensions are 50x19px (I think in EHM 2005 it might have been a pixel shorter at 50x18px).

I suggest going with Minstrel's suggestion of making the small-sized logos in a frosted effect. This way everyone's style of logos will look similar. To do this, you put a layer of semi transparent blue behind the logo. The blue colour is #dee3f7 and you set the layer to 30% opacity (or, in other words, 70% transparency).

I voted for UHL but I trust your judgment for whichever you choose
