I've looked and searched, but could find an answer. Can anyone tell me how long international transfer windows are open?:dunno: They are like July 7 - when? I either miss them or the players procrastinate until it is closed.
If you start the game Aug 2 (UK leagues) and make the contract offer right away...you can get University guys and Euro guys over...so it goes for a bit into August anyway. Did it recently with Cory Schneider, Mason Raymond and Sergei Shirokov for Vancouver.
Oh and Kirill Koltsov.
Is it just me, or does the international transfer window only work properly for the current summer's draft class? If my memory serves, if I wait until July or even late June to make an offer to an European player who was drafted the year before, I always have to wait a full season before he joins my team.
I'm pretty sure it's June 7... However, it doesn't really matter, as you're told when the player will join your team when you offer him a contract, so June 7 or June 15 means after the end of the season, so it doesn't change anything.
The ending date is more important, as it let you know till when you can sign euro players to get them in your team for the upcoming season. I had this date of August 15 by making an offer in July (after the yearly database update). I offered a contract to one of my euro prospect, and was told that "the player can move during an international transfer window. The actual international transfer window ends on August 15" or something like that

It is only open a week? No wonder I can hardly get euros to sign for the upcoming season. If you sign them prior to the window and wait for the transfer, do you lose a year on the contract like major juniors?
Systemfel: Seems you have a bug somewhere...it normally ends august 15, not two months earlier...
Hypnotist: yeah, if you sign them prior the transfer window, you loose one year. I sign them a few days after the new season update in july so i don't loose a season on their contract And for the major junior prospects, you'd better sign them during training camp, as they're automatically under-contracted as soon as they signed. So if you decide in march that you want to sign player X, wait the next training camp and sign him during camp, so you won't loose a year

Touché
For the NHL the deadline opens June 7 and I'm fairly sure it ends June 15 as well.
This is only the time players can actually move though, so you can offer them contracts after the NHL season ends and it gives you time to negotiate so really the ending is less important than the one we know for sure which is June 7. Make your offers to any Euro prospects you want to bring in before then.
