I entered the 2012-2013 season with the Sabres a month ago but haven't used that save since.

My ongoing game is in November 2013. In EHM 2005, I played a couple of games into the 2020s.

I think the longest I went was probably into the 2021/2022, then the patch came out for EHM 2007 and I started over because I was too far gone for it to help change things in my game.

By the way, how many years can you go into this game? Is it unlimited or what?

It's totally unlimited. IIRC, the developers have said they've run a career for 100 years or so.

That's good to hear that you can go forever. I know that I just hate playing that far and then hearing about some patch coming out. Also, I hate to hear that it'll work if you haven't went past 2010 in your game, but I don't see any patches coming out soon.

So I think I'll try to make a nice long run again.

I think we've seen our last patch, so don't hold back. Go for the super long career.

JVanderpool: Good luck for you to be the oldest GM in hockey! Really! What an achievement that would be! =D>
I'm not sure I'll be able to go all the road. I'm really enjoying the game now and still in 2011, heavily scouting prospects and making a lot of trades, so I'm taking really small steps. But one thing is for sure - I've studied carefully my surroundings (players and NHL teams) and I can say that I am quite aware of what's going on and who is who....still have a lot work to do, so I don't want just simulate from year to year. :dunno:
I have no intention to offend people that want to jump to yet another year (its their approach and I respect that). ;) However, I prefer quality over quantity :-D

Aye, me too! I'm very slow at this game. For me every game is a teeth grinder, and every game must be / could've been won, or there'll be screaming and loud bangs in the locker room! :-x

I finally am able to start pushing the issue on going farther in my GM career on EHM 2007.

Now that the database release has been done here at The Blue Line. I am able to use that one and go far into my career. I am only 4 years into my new game, but I feel that I can make a really long run with it right now.

It is honestly a lot more fun for me right now. I took a break from playing EHM 2007 for about 2 months or so and it feels so good to play it again.

Anyway, is there anybody else who is far into their career?

My brother is crazy with this game, he's in the year 2040 or something... started off in Finland, built a dynasty and then went off to the NHL...

I'm in 2012, Finland.

It would be great to see a screening of his GM stats after being around for that long in this game.

I'm just curious to see how many games he won and possibly how many goals were scored within all of those years.

I'm currently at the very start of the 2012-2013 season with the Quebec Remparts... Five straight President Cup's (Regular Season Champion), five straight Playoff Championships and to top it all off: Three straight Memorial Cup's... Major Juniors is way too easy if you know the tricks...

I have not went that route and tried my hand at the juniors. I usually will do the minor leagues or just the NHL. I don't fair so bad half the time in the minors, tend to win plenty of games and championships.

As for the NHL, that's always easy if you got a good solid team.

Just to let you know how far I am right now, I am only into the 2009-2010 season.

I've only played two games past the 2009-2010 season in the past. I don't have the patience to go long term, always in need of a fresh start ;) I always play in North America, usually the NHL or Major Juniors... Think I'm gonna try to continue my Challenge 9 game as long as I can after the challenge is over... It's funnier with rules!

I start new games too often to go very far with any one of them but this time I'm gonna try to stick with it and try to get to 2050 at the least :-D

I had to start over on my game. I fixed my desktop so that I could play the game on there as well. The only problem is that it can't handle the big load like my laptop can and for that reason, I had to start a new game.

Anyway, I am sure it will be more fun for me then, because I plan on starting out in the lower leagues and then working my way up to the NHL.

I'll also probably go along the chain of the Canadiens affiliates. Start in the ECHL, then dive into the AHL, and finally make it big in the NHL with Montreal.

That sounds great, I will have to try that when the current challenge is finished. It's way to though to play two games with work and school about to start in September...

I will probobly play the Charlotte Checkers in the ECHL to start with, work my way up to Hartford and then finish in the Big Apple...

It's always fun to work the chain like that if you want to not get so bored with the game. You might spend 10 years in the ECHL or lowest affiliate before anything changes, but when you do switch, it's fun.

I know the thing about school as well, white knight. I am about to start up college again and I just got a new job about a month ago. So having all of that will make it hard, but playing a season every now and then will be a good stress reliever.

Morjens

year 2041

Here's a screenshot from my stats, started with Tampereen Ilves, waited when Nonis got sacked (long wait) then went to Canucks :)
