Trouble from the point, how do you get your points scoring?

Post by targetthyself »

with any team how do you generate goal scoring chances from the point in EHM 28 games in which i have 9 goals from defensmen, I'm getting shots on net 55 for a player hes got 2 goals 19 rated slap shot and is there really anyway to keep a poor-mediocre goaltender from just getting destroyed. I'm trying to run a trap system to keep the shots and scoring chances down, but at the worst possible times he shoots us in the foot, and ive got no better options till free agency im just not trading the rediculiousness for some of the leagues best goaltenders and best pospects (Antero Nittymakii Kari Ramo, Tukka Rask, etc...)

There's more than just one aspect in the game to get what you want, but I suggest you first to try the very basic thing - your tactics. Go to: Tactics Screen - Unit tactics - Tactical System - set Offensive Faceoff to Point Shot and then put your best shooters right there. I do it for my PP units all the time. I hope it helps.

All three misspelled...

Yup, point shot is good

(had to say something, so I wouldn't only be nagging about spelling mistakes again)

Well, A. I'm American B. I always spell finnish names wrong i just can't help it all those i's a's u's and o's i just can't win.

also I do Point shot on the power play drop passes/ overloads on everything else and my leading scorer is Tomas Kaberle 4goals i also run the umbrella with McCabe at the point im befuddled as to why im not finding the net more often. its a small sample size, but with games slipping away because beyond my top line i cant find the net.Its becoming a bigger, and bigger problem my Point is supposed to be my strength

On your individual attributes section in tactics, check the box for 'join rush' and 'carry puck' for your better stickhandling and offensive d-men and they will get involved in the offensive zone a little more. It may not lead directly to more goals for your defensemen, but their point totals should go up with more assists.

done already McCabe and Gill are the only two who cant join the rush. McCabe, White, Kaberle and Kubina carry.

Tomas Kaberle? or Thomas Kaberle? no really..I cannot recall. Too much red wine.

Might be Tomas...but I know it is Nniittyymääkkiiee something like that...like Seläännnnnnnnnnnne. Or pepperoni.

Topic: No defenseman in this game is Paul Coffey. The best you will get is between 15-25 goals and 50-60 points, and that is when you have Lidstrom (forget the stupid dots over the o) playing with Thornton, Marleau and Crosby.

We're not professional writers here, when i come on this site and i post a question im asking for help, not bereavements on my spelling skills, you people need to get a handle on yourselves. To all those that attempted to answer my question, thank you, to the rest, well insert expletive here.

Uh yeah..You think you might have figured that out. And quite honestly if you want to post like that on this site, with the language you won't be allowed to be around long. I have no issue with you, I made a joke that has been a running joke on this site for about a month now about spelling of certain player names. Read the site...Niitty comments are everywhere. I am sorry you took what I said as being evil, but not sorry for what I said...twas a joke.

In an online community, new members should try and get a sense of what those who have been around for awhile are like before they read a post as ripping into them. Even here, I am not ripping you. I am being "batdad" the mod. The guy who does not put up with stuff, and says what he thinks.

We are not asking for perfect spelling, or professional writing as I have mispelled Niitty one thousand times if I have once. Twas a joke.

However it is not too much to ask for proper punctuation and for proper sentence structure. One of our rules is no IM speak. So please in future posts attempt to do that and capitalize words that need to be, like "I" and at the beginning of sentences. Typos happen, we get that. But when we see a post where it happens 4-8 times, then we know it was not a typo.

We also ask that four letter words not be used. We do have at least one 12 year old member of this site, and we would like it to remain a fun site. Let this be for all members just as a reminder of what we are about here at TBL.

1. EHM
2. Fun
3. Fun
4. Polite
5. Decent grammar, etc.

We all have our pet peeves, clearly mine being people. Have I ever mentioned I hate people?

Anyhoo..this thread has run its course and has degenerated into nothing to do with the original topic. I think the questions asked were answered, so I am locking this thread.
