Closest call during the playoffs?

Post by Qikdraw »

No I'm not talking about the PIT vs PHI game and did, or didn't, the puck go over the line. (I think it did though) I'm talking about your closest playoff win in the series.

Mine was last night. I was down 3-0 in the series, I thought I was screwed big time. I had main players out, and not enough defencmen, so a winger had to play defence. I thought I was screwed. (by the way, I sim games, so I have no control over gameplay I leave that to the coach) My next game I won 5-0. Sweet! I'm still alive! Still a winger has to play defence. Next game I win again, 4-0. Holy rubbish! Two shutouts in a row! Two defencemen come back and I debate if I should put them in considering I'm winning, but I put them in. Next game I win again. 3-0. I'm now super nervous as I am dead even in the series and I just got 3 shutouts. The final game in the series I win again, 5-0. FOUR shutouts in a row!

Not only was this a playoff win, it was a Cup win!

I don't think I can top that. Ever.

Nittimaki is amazing! (he had 7 shutouts in total during the playoffs)

My defence pairings are:

Regehr, Boynton
Carle, Phillips
Tverdosky, Sarich

I also had the least GA during the regular season.

My first Cup ever in EHM 07, I won in Game 7 double Overtime with a SH goal by Joe Sakic. I was watching the game, though, so I was jumping up and down like there's no tomorrow.

Yes, this was possibly the craziest thing I've seen on EHM...but to lose it, wow you would have been gutted.

I have to say the biggest defeat that I have had is in game 7 during the finals with the Red Wings.

Went into 3 OT's and lost when Datsyuk broke out with a breakaway and scored.

As for the biggest win that I have ever had in the game. I came back from being down 3-0 against the Stars to win the Cup for a game 7 finish of 3-0 and winning 4 games straight after being down.

Down 2-0 in the series my Star(created player) goes down with a 7month injury.
He had 23point in 15games.
Game 3 i loose both the game and my Star Prospect Zach Keane for 5months

My Created guy had 23points in 15game
Keane had 20points in 16 games

Game 4 rolls around i have 2 non NHL expeirence guys in the lineup i thought things couldn't get any worst, i was wrong.
My Top D-men Matt Niskanen and Ivan Vishnevskiy both get 3week injuries. and i'm down 3-2 going into the 2nd.
My experirenceless rookies go on a tear and pick up 2g and 3a and 4g and 2 assits for a 8-3 game.
i win 8-4 final.
So i take a gamble and put them in the top line then my #1 goalie gets hurt in practices(Thankfully it was minor)
But he is gonna miss game 5 so up i call my 3rd and start game 5.
Period 1 ends and its 4-0 in favor of the Dead things. so i start my 3rd stringer in the 2nd and what do ya know Schooley turns it on(1 of my unexpeirenced Rookie) scoring 4straight goals and then J.Lundqvist finally breaks out of his 10game slump and adds a goal i win 5-4.

Next game My #1 goalie is ready for but i decide to go with My #3.
Vishnevskiy is actually able to play despite ebing injured, so i dress 7-dmen and scratch a 4th line forward.
I go on to win that game 5-1

Game 7 comes around i decide to play my #1 goalie. Went through an overtime and 5mins of a 2nd before Vishnevskiy scores. and Stephan(my #1 goalie) gets the primary assist.

Of course all was for nothing the next series i lost the series 4-2 for the cup.

I was thinking i had a team of destiny if my top 5 guys can go down and the team could come back and win against the #1 team in the league in 7.
but apparently the 8th seed in the east wanted to prove they where a better 8th seed.
