Hey guys.. Im 6 seasons into my game and want to replace the Coyotes, Thrashers or Preds with the Nordiques or Jets. Is this possible to do?. I see they have the vintage logos in the downloads section. If its possible.. how would I go about doing it?

Any help is appreicated, thanks

Hmm I'm not sure this is possible. I know mne's Saved Game Editor can do some basic editing but I don't think it can change team names.

The only way I can think of is to use the Pre-Game Editor to change the names. But this would only affect new games you start after making the changes - not any pre-existing saved games.

This would be possible if you did it pre-game, but not mid-game. In fact, I already did exactly this a little while ago - brought back the Winnipeg Jets in place of Nashville, and it worked.

Though, something happened which caused me to stop playing that game, but I can't remember what it was... whether it was lost interest, or a crash, I forget. :-k

Changing team names can cause the db to be very, VERY prone to crashing, so make sure you read some stuff about it here, make sure you know what you're doing, or you will lose your save game very easily.

Fo example, it's not as simple as remaning the team and re-arrange the divisions, but you must rename a team as the team you deleted (did that make sense?). For example, if you remane the Nashville Predators as the Winnipeg Jets, then you must rename another team (some obscure team from Canada's tier III junior hockey, perhaps) as the Nashville Predators, otherwise the Game will look for the name "Nashville Predators" and won't find it, wich equals crash.

I have done myself a mod where I add the Winnipeg Jets, Quebec Nordiques, Hamilton Bulldogs, Manitoba Moose, Victoria Salmon Kings, (make them NHL Teams), Toronto St. Pats, Montreal Maroons, NY Americans, plus teams in Saskatchewan and London (ON). I basically left no American teams besides the original six plus a few others.

WOuld be really inteesting if anyone could do a mod with a whole NHL division in Europe, with teams in Sweden, Russian, Czech Republic, Finland and maybe even one in England.

The WHA mod can be a very usefull source for knowledge on this matter.
