Team Report

Post by matt44 »

When looking at the Asst. GM's team report it gives a list of your best players in each position. How much notice do you guys take of this?

Just looked at mine and it says Scott Parker is a better RW than Enver Lisin and David Hale better than David Tababe, despite Lisin & Tanabe have the better ratings...............

Attributes are not everything. Sometimes there are hidden ones that makes them better. Pascol Amyot in my challenge game has a 2 slapshot. Yann Sauve 12. Guess what? Amyot had 24 goals, Sauve 25 in the last season...

Other things come into play: Teamwork, age, experience, work rate, ability to get open, size and strength...maturity.

Especially with Lisin this is likely the issue. And Hale is better than Tanabe...but they both suck.

In the team report I wonder how much reputation comes into play? Also, take a look at your Asst. GM's scouting abilities. If he can judge talent, how is he going to make a good report?

Honestly, I rarely (if ever) look at the Asst. GM's team report. I tend to rely on my scouting and what I see for results out of the players.

The only thing I use my team report for is to help judge development of young players.

Just as bruins72 mentioned, I am sure that it mostly based on reputation.

Yeah, and no matter what their ratings, sometimes they just suck. If they play well, I don't care where they are on the depth chart of some stupid AGM.

So is there any other use for an Asst GM other than these reports? If not it would appear you should get one with the best scouting attributes as possible?

Ok, just done an experiment. My old Asst GM had JPA & JPP of 12..........I got my best scout, made him Asst GM and there's been quite a few changes to the team report in both positional depth chart and prospect lists.
