WHL and Loaners

Post by nudave »

When I started as GM in the WHL, I had 2 loaners on my team from the NHL. Now, being in my third season, I don't have any. I have a young team and was hoping that I would get 1-2 loaners from the NHL. Do I have to pursue the loan, or do they just magically choose a team and set up a loan with me?

The NHL team that has the rights to that player could sign that player and decide not to send him back down to the WHL, they could have him playing in the AHL. So the answer is that there is no way of asking the NHL team to send the player down, it's totally up to the AI.

I'm also pretty sure the loaner has to be on your reserve roster to be loaned, in essence back to you.
