How do the database handle waivers?

Post by Djungelurban »

Got a little problem here. For some reason I can't seem to get the waiver status right. Using my recently "invalidated" database I've started to fill it with players for my 94- 95 project and as I've come to understand it, the values in "Player Info" in what determines waiver status. But for some reason, even though I fill in everything in those fields the waiver status remain what it was before meaning that for example rookie Paul Kariya (since he already was in the database), he does have to clear waivers while 11 year veteran Randy Ladouceur hasn't... That's just nuts... I mean, I know how I possibly could fix it, by for example flipping the database entry of Ladouceur and Kariya but I don't wanna do that if it's not necessary. It would result in me having to do over everything I've done already and I'd really like to use the current entries as much as possible since it would save alot of time (especially when it comes to filling out their history)...

So how does the game calculate waiver status and can I fix this in an easy way?

I'm interested in this answer too - the official game guide has a brief page on the waiver eligibility subject - but what it says obviously doesn't match what happens once you start editing the database...I can tell you that I've edited player's entire league records as well as their all of their player info - and it has had no effect on their waiver status.

I guess I've got quite a few players I'll have to redo.

Here's hoping there's another answer....
